The movie needed something different, and I needed to go back to something closer to [the original film's composer] Vangelis. Regarding the latter, I will tell you that, think and feel this type of music, except for the well-known exception,. However, the original soundtrack album (1994) features vocal contributions from Demis Roussos and the sax solo by Dick Morrissey on "Love Theme" (In the credits on page 3 of the 1994 Atlantic CD, Dick's last name is misspelled as "Morrisey"). The 2015 pressing is not perfect at all but the wax on that pressing is so much quieter and features only a handful of loud pops rather than constant, medium level noise which I find to be much worse.The mastering on this pressing is pretty far from the 2015 pressing and the CD anniversary and is clearly only focused on the mids. I would highly recommend just purchasing a sealed or NM copy of the 2015 version as the mastering just as so much more range.

Lot of people here probably can't hear it, since it's very low and small, but with an Ortofon 2M-Bronze, very good turntable and quite nice speakers, it's easy to say there's a problem. In 2018 this was available again as an "exclusive limited edition" of 3,000 copies on 180 gram vinyl for ''Start Your Ear Off Right 2018'' which is identical to this release with the sole addition of a Rhino sticker for ''Start Your Ear Off Right'' campaign in the upper left-hand corner. I do agree with Confederate that it feels largely digitally sourced and without that "airiness" of an analogue sourcing.

This is completely false, with the exception of the Audio Fidelity SACD, no CD iteration of the 1994 album has ever been remastered.
