I feel this is the film that critics will feel they need to dislike, for the simple reason they forgot how to have fun with film. And yet, I cannot be entirely negative… Looking at the film's poster and title, it's fairly clear that you shouldn't expect an intelligent and suspenseful horror masterpiece. It seems that there were some problems there, according to the trivia that I read on IMDb, but one can imagine that in this movie the make-up people must have had an almost insurmountable task. It's poorly written, the acting and cinematography are garbage, it's all over the place with it's dialog and writing.

One of Cronenberg’s earliest works, this film still manages to shock and send…er shivers…down the viewers spine. The chemistry between Harring and Watts is palpable as the two struggle to uncover the victim’s true identity in this Lynchian version of Los Angeles. I appreciate graphics horror movies, not so much graphic comedies, but Night of Something Strange blends the two well to create surprises and shocking scenes at every turn.
