I did see a slight color shift after they set on the lips although it’s not as dramatic as some other color-changing balms. I have quite a few NARS eyeshadow palettes from over the years and they seems to be a little bigger in size.

I definitely don’t have ANY palette in my stash that is similar and I think it’s a really good palette.I think it’s hard to pick one over the other because they’re both great, although I have found myself reaching for the NARS more. Any kick-up or debris from the powders will most likely eventually mix into the gel-to-powders but so far the powder blushes seem to have minimal powdery residue and I haven’t had any issues yet. They showed up well on my medium skin although I’m at my lightest right now since we haven’t been at the beach much this winter and I’ve lost my tan. For the really deep smokey-brown and gold look, I did use coconut grove to add depth and smoke as there isn’t quite enough in the Afterglow palette alone.

Occasionally you get a slightly rogue matte formula and one of them for me was a little ‘off’ which is the ‘whipped’ shade. Some of the warmer yellow ones were nice to layer and warm up other shadows even if I don’t see myself wearing alone.

I’ve checked and you still get the usual amount of eyeshadow per pan than most of the other palettes that I have ( about 1. You can get a really fun and quirky eye look with this , your typical smokey brown-golden eye or a flash of eccentric brights. I’d love to know your thoughts on this palette and if you think it’s something that you would invest in? Shade ‘First taste’ looks totally invisible as it’s very close to my pale inner arm colour but it’s a really nice highlight tone and by no means has a bad payoff like the swatch would have you believe. They launched the Afterglow Collection for spring which has a gorgeous color palette for eyes, lips and cheeks.

I applied with fingers or a smaller brush like the MAC 133S (small cheek brush) and it applied/blended easily to look like a natural glow. I do think it is a nice one and even though I don’t love every single color I think they are easy to mix and layer.Finally, if like me, your lips are forever dry, prepare to get a serious crush on the new collection of glowy tinted lip balms.

There are some neutrals mixed in making it more wearable than other warm/red/orange eyeshadow palettes. At this point I will not have time to review the holiday one but if you can check it out I highly recommend doing so! To apply I’ve been using 1 highlighter and 1 blush each time I wear although you can certainly mix/layer colors. From buttery mattes and lustrous satins, to electric pops of color and glittering metallics—each finish stays soft with a vibrant effect.

I ended up hauling the holiday Studio 54 Hyped Palette over Christmas and find it more wearable and neutral for my neutral-loving self compared to this spring’s Afterglow Eyeshadow Palette. Create a variety of cheek looks, from subtle shimmer to bold matte, with six shades that deliver a natural rush of color. Since it is a dry finish I found it adhered well to my skin without looking or feeling emollient or greasy. HOWEVER* I clapped eyes on the new NARS Afterglow palette on Cher Webb’s instagrama couple of weeks ago and I was in lust. I also thought the shade was too similar to ‘shadow hill’ which has a better texture and they could have maybe done with a really nice darker brown like their infamous (and my favourite) coconut-grove kinda vibe.
