About this deal

Stylish and Practical design: Including interchangeable screen display options- 8 different time display choices available ranging from classic to digital. I wouldn’t trust that too much though – probably in the region of RM700 for S10 or RM800 for S12 or RM1000 for S20.

full color TFT-LCD display shows important course information including distances to the front/center/back green, hazards, pin placement and hole layout. The aim W11 is GOLFBUDDY’s most advanced smart golf GPS watch with features that include a full-colour touch screen display and give the golfer better real-life views and more control around the course. Convenient and simple digital scorecard: Helps you easily keep track of your scores throughout the round. The Aim W11 has a Green Undulation display that shows you the slopes of the green in different colors. I was halfway through my par 5 when the watch sorted out it’s GPS and told me to go to the tee box to start the game.Design: stylish and practical comfy design- with 8 interchangeable time display designs to choose from. If you regularly play on new courses the accurate map of the each hole will help massively with strategy. Open the battery cover and you will find a small hole concealed underneath a black plastic sticker located on the bottom right corner of the unit. I’m aware that a competitor watch has a filter in ‘settings’ so that you only get relevant hazard yardages. We first tested the W11 on the new course at Essendon Country Club, a course that has been designed with two greens on each hole. The first noticeable difference versus the Aim W10 is the new ceramic bezel that adorns the outside of the aim W11. In fact, it has quite a neat selection of watch screens which can easily be altered as the mood takes you. There is no wind calculation or elevation taken into account here, so again, you need to be slightly experienced in golf to address these things. At least, provide us with a way to input drive distances on fairways so we can brag about our average drives! Our first round was at the Struie – the second course at Dornoch, and often overlooked because of the magnificence of the Championship course there. It is loaded with features that are accurate and fast loading and after a number of uses we found this a genuinely helpful companion on the golf course. This function comes in handy when you’re playing on bigger courses where you can’t see the whole green from your tee box. To turn on the screen, press button, or lift your wrist towards you as if you are looking at the time.

I hardly tinker around with the other features, except for after the whole to input my score and the number of putts I did. The different colors make it easy to see how severe the slope is, which can be a huge help when you’re trying to make a putt. Although product information is regularly updated, Aldi is unable to accept liability for any incorrect information. Now, this obviously is annoying because I generally have very low recollection of what the heck is happening in the round.None of this graphical bullshit that looks nice but can’t give you what you need without going through mathematics. There are some mental gymnastics needed here but overall, it’s just annoying that it’s not so easy to do like the Garmin. This mode allows you to familiarize yourself with the unit or preview a course or hole when you are indoors and a GPS signal is not available. I also like that this function is very easy to use because it’s just a matter of scrolling through different screens and pressing buttons on the side of your watch rather than fiddling with complicated menus. Having one button is really straightforward and the touchscreen is fairly responsive, although we found it a bit laggy on occasion when swiping left and right.

If you’re looking for a top-of-the-line golf watch that doesn’t sacrifice any functionality, then the Golf Buddy Aim W11 is definitely worth your money. It makes it very easy to see the entire hole at once, and I never had any problems with it not working properly. The only downside is that the accuracy seems to drop when I’m playing on courses with lots of hills or trees, but this is common for GPS watches in general and not something specific to the Golf Buddy Aim W11. The tri-color straps are pretty ugly but at least they recognise it and provide you with a plain black strap. He previously worked as a GP, which means he likes to get into the details of things, such as weighing golf shoes with his kitchen scales. After you've selected the course, you will see a screen display with the preview mode box - if there is a check mark on this box, please press OK and you will be able to preview this course.
