Before Malcolm and I had our three sons we used to go busking together and I would write special songs for each country; the best one was in Italian about pasta. This unique book shimmers with shiny silver foil. Dot loved this book and her favourite part was guessing what animal came next. We have read this together many times and she is enjoying the accomplishment of getting more and more animals correct.YES YES YES!!!! It is just SO GORGEOUS!!! I am going to buy some copies to give friends with young kids as presents! But even if you don’t have or know any kids, the illustrations are just so beautiful and the book would make a wonderful addition to any book collection! LOVE IT! With eye-catching artwork and an exotic array of animals to marvel over, this is a gorgeous book to treasure and read over and over again – can you guess who has more legs than a butterfly? And who is wrinklier than a hedgehog? This is a great book for 5-8 year olds which encourages them to use their knowledge of the alphabet and the animal kingdom to try and guess what animal is coming up next. One of my television songs, A SQUASH AND A SQUEEZE, was made into a book in 1993, with illustrations by the wonderful Axel Scheffler. It was great to hold the book in my hand without it vanishing in the air the way the songs did. This prompted me to unearth some plays I’d written for a school reading group, and since then I’ve had 20 plays published. Most children love acting and it’s a tremendous way to improve their reading.
