About this deal

The VigorAP 903 is an 802.11ac Wave 2 access point, improving performance by increasing the amount of data that can be sent at one time. 11ac Wave 2 includes Multi User MIMO (Multiple In, Multiple Out) or MU-MIMO technology, further building upon the MIMO technologies introduced with 802.11n. VigorAPs set up as Mesh Nodes do not need to be configured, they're managed by the Mesh Root once they've been 'adopted' into the Mesh network. The Mesh Root is configured through the Web interface, or with the DrayTek Wireless app to operate as a Mesh Root, which can then add in any Mesh Nodes. Aims to maximise the total wireless throughput by improving how time is shared between wireless clients to prevent slower clients from negatively affecting other users and to enable faster clients to obtain higher speeds that they're capable of. The ability to view connection strength and run speed tests directly from each access point makes it very easy to get the best coverage from your network. Klarna Bank AB (publ) is Authorised by the Swedish Financial Services Authority (Finansinspektionen) and is subject to limited regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority. The VigorAP 903 is another great wireless access point that can be part of a mesh network, with Ethernet router built in, and large external antennas. (Image credit: Future) Appendix: Testing the Draytek VigorAP 903 As your VigorAP 902 unit(s) will be distributed around your building, it's an ideal opportunity to also gather environmental information about those locations. By the addtition of an optional USB temperature sensor, your VigorAP 902 can report real-time local temperature information, show the previous 24 hour's chart and also set high/low alarms to alert/log if the temperature falls above or below your set levels. DrayTek's VigorAP 903 may not be the fastest AP on the market, but it's affordable, extendable and extremely easy to deploy, putting mesh wireless well within reach of even the smallest businesses. VerdictThe TCP port has been changed. By default, HTTP uses port 80, but you can deliberatelychange that. If you have done so, you need to append the port number to the URL, for example http://192.168.1.1:88. We tested a pair of VigorAP 1000C access points, along with a VigorAP 903, and the Vigor2862 router. (Image credit: Future) As your VigorAP 903 unit(s) will be distributed around your building, it's an ideal opportunity to also gather environmental information about those locations. By the addtition of an optional USB temperature sensor, your VigorAP 903 can report real-time local temperature information, show the previous 24 hour's chart and also set high/low alarms to alert/log if the temperature falls above or below your set levels. This facility is ideal for detecting if any part of your building is over or under-heated or if heating/cooling has been left on overnight and therefore helping to make more efficient use of your heating or cooling energy consumption, potentially saving cost. The Mesh Root VigorAP is configured through the Web interface, or with the DrayTek Wireless app to operate as a Mesh Root, which can then add in any Mesh Nodes. Underneath, the 1000C has dual Gigabit LAN ports – one of which supports Power Over Ethernet (PoE). This is an installation time- and money-saving feature, because it means the access point can be linked into the network and given power with the one cable. Alternatively, the 1000C also comes with a DC 12v 2A power supply. The access point comes with a mounting clip that can be attached to a wall or ceiling (screws/bolts and washers are included) and then the 1000C just clips into place.

The VigorAP connected up to the network will be configured as the Mesh Root. When it's set up as the Mesh Root, it can scan for Mesh Nodes to join the Mesh. Additional new Mesh Nodes can be added when needed to improve network coverage and increase wireless network capacity. Wave 2 - Multi User MIMOThe VigorAP 903 is an 802.11ac Wave 2 access point, which improves performance by increasing the amount of data that can be sent at one time. The 802.11ac Wave 2 standard includes Multi User MIMO (Multiple In, Multiple Out) or MU-MIMO technology, building upon the MIMO technologies introduced with 802.11n.Universal Repeater (2.4GHz & 5GHz) - Wirelessly extend network coverage with the VigorAP operating as a wireless client, repeating that signal to extend coverage and bridging the LAN ports of the Access Point across the network The VigorAP 903 supports most of the same VigorAP features we love in the 1000C, and is very easy to get up and running. In testing it managed 288Mbps at 1m, 172Mbps at 5m and 129Mbps out at 10m. Thanks to the inbuilt router, it’s especially good for connecting isolated LAN devices into a wireless mesh network. Mesh Wireless links VigorAP access points across both Wi-Fi and Wired links to cover a large area with a single Wireless network, spanning multiple Wireless Access Points and easily managed from the Mesh Root VigorAP or with the DrayTek Wireless app. Mesh nodes are automatically configured in a VigorMesh network once they've been adopted by a mesh root. Simply take the VigorAP 903 out of the box, connect up the power and it will decide automatically whether to be a mesh node or access point. If it doesn't detect a wired uplink, the VigorAP 903 will start up as a mesh node and wait to be added to a VigorMesh network.
