About this deal

Thermos is the most well-known brand for making insulated flasks so they’ve got it down to a fine art. What’s more, this food flask is perfect for kids. Not only does it have a pretty youthful design but it’s also got a wide opening making it easier to eat and drink from. If you’re on the go with your family then you could each have one of these without breaking the bank. To remove this, simply add a couple of tablespoons of white vinegar to the flask and top it up with water. Leave this for a couple of hours or overnight to give it time to work. The ValueTalks food flask is made from BPA free materials, just like the last one we looked at. It’s also designed to keep food hot or cold and will manage this for up to 12 hours. This means that it will keep food hotter for longer than the SHO but the SHO does manage up to 20 hours for cold foods so it really depends on what type of food you’ll be storing.

INSULATED food flasks are perfect for hiking trips where you don’t have anywhere to heat up your meals but they can also be great for the office or school. Food flasks vary in price depending on how big they are and how long they will keep your food warm. Soup flasks aren’t the most expensive items in the world but they naturally have a range of prices according to the quality. It’s a good idea to set a budget and shop within that for anything you buy but remember that it’s often better to buy something a little more expensive that’s going to last and perform well. Design The amount of food you can get into your flask should be one of the main considerations you make when looking for the right food flask. Nobody knows your appetite and eating habits better than you do, so take a close look at the volumes of the flasks you’re considering and weigh that up against how much you’d be looking to carry. After all, it defeats the point somewhat if you can only fit half a lunch portion in what you’ve bought, or on the other end of the spectrum, buy one that’s too big and realise you’ve wasted money on flask volume you just won’t fill. Also bear in mind how many people you’re feeding – one large flask might feed two, if you’re going on a trip somewhere and are trying to economise on how much to take with you. Lid

What we particularly liked about this one was the range of colours it’s available in, meaning it’s easy to get a shade you like. Obviously heat loss is still possible from the point where the two layers join up, and the seals, which is why even the best vacuum flasks will lose heat eventually. How much are food flasks? Do not use your Food Flask to store or carry carbonated drinks or dry ice. The may cause the lid and/or stopper and contents to eject forcefully or leak. It’s lightweight and compact, with insulated walls that are designed to keep your food hot for 9 hours or cold for 14. Our fantastic customers are the most important part of our business and we guarantee we'll be there for you during your journey with us.

Best quality & features – The Thermos Stainless King Food Flask proves why Thermos are the standard when it comes to flasks. The durability and build are second to none, something which is exemplified by Thermos’ 50-year guarantee. Although not the largest flask here, the excellent heat retention times of up to 9 hours (hot) and up to 12 hours (cold) are among the best out there for a good-sized single portion of food. The colour options are a nice bonus, too. Because this is such a durable product, we think it’s ideal for outdoorsy people; perhaps if you’re going out climbing or cycling and want something that’s going to resist these kinds of environments. Moreover, it won’t leak, sweat or burn your hands, so it’s got everything going for it.Best for big meals – SHO’s Ultimate Food Flask is not the biggest flask out there, but it is bigger than most. 2 sizes are available for the Ultimate, both of which are bigger than comparable flasks. The smaller is 600ml, which beats out other similarly sized flasks which are usually around 500ml, and the 800ml compares with others usually around 700ml. So unquestionably, if you’ve got a big appetite (or are carrying food for two) then the Ultimate should be your flask of choice. An honourable mention does go out to Pioneer’s 1000ml food flask, however. For best results, please ensure that your food or liquid is heated sufficiently prior to insertion into your SHO Food Flask. Material: 8/8 Pro-Grade Stainless Steel, Capacity: 591 ml, Hours cold: Unspecified, Hours hot: Unspecified. What is the best soup flask? At 530ml, the SHO insulated food flask was one of the bigger ones we tried but you can get an even bigger 800ml version. The lid can be a major functional part of any kind of flask. Just like drinks flask which utilise the lid as a miniature cup/mug, so do food flasks have convertible lids. It might be a pertinent consideration, especially if you’re getting a food flask for camping or hiking trips, to have a flask with a lid that doubles up as a bowl. Some also come with foldable spoons, meaning cutlery becomes one less thing that you have to bring. Materials Imagine putting a soup flask filled to the brim in your bag alongside your phone, notebooks and laptop only to reopen the bag to find the flask has leaked and your other items are ruined. That’s why it’s crucial to find a soup flask that has decent leak proofing and seals tightly. Does The Exterior Get Hot?Of course, one of the main reasons to buy a flask is to keep hot food hot. As such, heat retention is another of the most important factors to consider before buying. This heat retention time can vary hugely between around 4 hours, up to 12 hours and potentially even longer than that. This means that you have to factor in how, where and when you intend to use your flask. For single portions, a few hours is probably fine, but on longer expeditions with multiple meals, you’re naturally going to need one that’ll hold onto that heat for longer. Some flasks are also designed with the intention of maintaining a low temperature for cold food. While not fully refrigerating them, flasks designed for this purpose will usually keep things cold longer than they keep things hot. But, some flasks are not meant for this, so bear that in mind. This food flask is one of the most affordable around for its size and we especially loved how lightweight it was. It also did a great job of keeping our food warm for the full 9 hours. We don’t think it’s a huge problem but obviously it depends on how long you’d need to keep your food warm. For a camping trip where you might not eat for hours, it’s not ideal but for the office, the keep-warm time should be sufficient. The only downside we could find was that the opening was a bit more tapered compared to some of the other options, which meant cleaning up wasn’t as straightforward.
