About this deal

Something bitter and snobbish that only someone like a sommelier would love and average people pretend to like because an expert says that it is tasteful or elegant or whatever. performance is very good / slightly above average. i was able to detect it on my arm close to the skin in the morning 14 hours after application. projection was very good also. not as strong as oud ispahan.

I don't normally blind-buy perfume, but I ran into a large bottle of this at Marshalls, and after reading the notes here I decided to buy it. And I'm glad I did! The opening is a slightly sharp but bright bergamot blast, which to me is just fine since that's one of my favorite notes. The dry down mellows it with vanilla and Amber, with the rosewood-ish note lingering underneath. It also has a nice powdery tone to it that spreads and softens as it stays on the skin. All in all, it's a pretty fragrance. Not terribly original - and I couldn't detect a real rosewood scent- but it's still very pleasant. I'll enjoy wearing it. As someone said below, Rosewood doesn't shout, it whispers. It's a perfume that carries itself with quiet confidence, and one which gives the best hugs. I am going to wear this for the rest of the week to give myself a proper chance to get to know it, because I do love the way I smell right now. I'm just not sure yet that it's very 'me'. Listed as unisex, I find it rather feminine but I can imagine that men can also smell fantastic with it :) This review is an initial impression based off a sample from Dior. This is based off a single wearing on skin. Rosewood isn't a complx perfume IMO.not flashy or groundbreaking either and I think it's not meant to be.it's simplicity is so beautiful, like a harmonious symphony.I'm happy that it's not ruined by too many things going on in it.but eventhough it's simple, It's far from being boring and bland.actually I can't stop sniffing my wrist whenever I use this perfume.I find it soft, clean, warm, cozy and friendly.sweet(not in a jammy way) and feminine while having a hint of masculine edge and sexy in a simple, original way(it's sexy like a girl, coming right out of shower, wearing her man's large shirt).Desert Rosewood is a warm spicy and cozy fragrance, mainly dominant by patchouli, mandarin and benzoin notes with woodsy accord. I really like this sublime zesty opening of fresh, slightly bitter mandarin complimented with rich earthy patchouli and also cardamom. Transitioning into the dry-down it gets more spicy, I really get vibes of ginger and cinnamon, also a slight rose and cumin nuance. The dry-down seem to be dominated by warn benzoin which gives a a bit of powderiness, but it stays resinous and retains that spicy zestiness and bitterness. The scent have a really good performance and staying power which is always a plus. And yet, there's something about it that I just can't get enough of with this stunning scent trail. These are different, but this scent is probably the closest scent to Rosewood imho. Rosewood is sweeter however, and a little softer. Rosewood outperforms. This is a pretty good scent with good performance. From their lineup, I can't stand more than half the scents. This one though, and I'm smelling it right now, is growing on me. Kind of barbershop on the dry down. And I don't mean it smells like brut, i mean it smells like powder and creamy shaving soap with a touch of spice. Dang I thought the cardamom went away, but it's still there. That must be the "medicinal" note people are talking about.

For some reason, I have tended to avoid wearing the warm, woody, ambery perfumes even if I have them and liked them. This is reminding me of Obsession because of the powdery amber and warmth, but a much softer Obsession I can actually wear and minus the spice (it is way too loud and harsh for me, and gives me an instant headache). Smells a little mature when I sniff it on the skin, it feels perfumey. My son said it smells a bit of babywipes, but he likes it. These are different, and Organza Indecence has much more forward cinnamon & vanilla notes, but their are similarities with the Brazilian Rosewood note. Organza Indecence outperforms. To my nose there is no close comparison to the 2 other fragrances - Oud rosewood has much better projection and silage and is of a much higher quality blend. Oud Rosewood is a big hit for me, I'd even go as far as saying it's probably one the best MCD releases to date, so much so that I bought 250ml to sit alongside my Oud Ispahan and Leather Oud. For the Hand & Body Wash: How awesome is this? You can shower in your favourite scent before applying it to your body. There will no longer be a clash between the fragrance of your shower and the scent you apply. A luxurious lathering hand and body wash that is paraben free. Suitable for vegan and vegetarians and cruelty free.I need to get a bottle of this, it's just incredible to my nose. One of the best amber fragrances I've ever smelled. I would say that if you love amber, you can safely blind buy but there is no such thing as a safe blind buy. On my skin, this just works and smells incredible but it may not on your own. So, always sample before you buy. It may not be for everyone but I think everyone should at least try to smell and sample it, at least once in their lives. Although it speaks of the desert, it should not be related to fragrances that portray the burning sands of the Middle East, but with sandy landscapes and constant breeze. It is perfect for special occasions, romantic dinners, and more sexy nights, except ballads and dance floors. That's because, in my opinion, Desert Rosewood does not match with warmth or sweat, but with a well-cut suit or a trim dress, when heeled shoes draw more attention than the clothing itself and the perfume is used as a weapon of seduction. It is worth remembering that the fragrances of Goldfield & Banks are gender-free. Sniffed from the bottle it's gorgeous, soft, clean, warm, feminine. Sprayed directly into the air in front of me, it's just alcohol. When I spray on skin, I get an initial burst of something sharp and bitter, mixed with a powdery sweetness. I think the sharp, bitter note might be the bergamot, but it's barely recognisable as citrus. For the first few minutes I couldn't tell if I liked it on my skin or not, but now it's settling into something soft and powdery, leaning sweet vanilla, more like it smelled directly from the bottle. I am getting the babywipes/talc vibe a little bit. But it's pretty. The florals aren't listed but are definitely coming through now, after about twenty minutes of it sitting on my skin. A smattering of pink rose petals, and maybe a sprinkle of something else. The florals are delicate and elegant. I don't really get any tea, I don't think. i can see this might become a go to oud fragrance for a lot of people in the community as its not very challenging and smells pleasant to people yet smells 'Niche' and unique. I love the rich amber color, representing the twilight desert, inside the jar made with French glass. As for the projection, it is a fragrance of low trace and high comfort. It exudes to the wearer and draws attention to who is close enough to feel it. It has high durability.

Until I tested oud Satin mood the other day. Wow, it's really pure at the beginning, extremely animalistic and just too much for me, but after 4-5 hours it develops in a similar way. There is no rose listed in Rosewood but I am pretty sure it is available. Maison Christian Dior Collection, the exclusive perfume line of the Dior House, presents its new edition in April 2020 under the name of Oud Rosewood.Rosewood is an uncomplicated, clean musky woods fragrance. I have worn it to work quite often and received a compliment from a male customer that said it smelt like a soothing, woodsy spa-scent. It's a fragrance with no frills. The most evocative shades of brown. Oud Rosewood conveys the olfactory image of both a warm brown streaked with light brown, like a round, soft and lustrous rosewood, and the more rugged, nomadic brown of oud wood." Also, if you don't know what you're smelling how can you critique a scent? Did anyone ever smell Palisander Rosewood? I haven't. Guilty. NO idea what it lends to this overall concoction.

Brazilian Rosewood. I must admit the notes here have me perplexed. I might be the only one, but I get a Brazilian Rosewood from this scent: dusty rose, soapy woods, powdery sweetness. The dusty rose colour of the juice and the name accurately represent the scent imho. Admittedly my bottle is from somewhere between 2006-08, but it still smells the same to me today as when I got it. The Brazilian Rosewood accord has reminders for me of other scents with Brazilian Rosewood: Organza Indecence Givenchy, Presence d'une Femme Montblanc & Midnight Fleur Nest. Has above average performance for year round wear. For the Wax Melts: You will receive a 50g (approx) plastic container, filled with 7-8 pieces of wax moulds blended in a fragrance of your choice, each melt will give around 1 hour burning time. It get something crisp, yet indistinct in the opening...never the alleged lime. After a few times with this, I finally understand the tea note...but it's still more white tea rather than green. All in all, it suffices to say this is predominantly an amber scent.

Desert Rosewood is classified by the company as a woody, liqueur, gourmand, and mystical scent. When applied, it smells like mandarin jelly, still warm, prepared with pieces of cinnamon and cloves, and also brings some camphorated nuances. These nuances disappear, shortly after, and there is a mixture of light woods without of humidity aspect, besides the great presence of benzoin. Desert Rosewood is easily my favorite from Goldfield & Banks line-up, probably because of having a lot of my favorite notes and being most unique to my nose. I already used almost all of the sample, I think it is a full bottle worthy. Bought the discovery set and this ended up being my favourite, as well as my favourite fragrance I've smelt so far (as a relative beginner). I get a warm spicy, but not too spicy (otherwise it would remind me of something "old fashioned"), vanilla, booze-y, gourmand smell. I couldn't get enough of it and on some nights would give myself a spray before going to sleep just so I could smell it as I drifted off too. I personally don't get anything "medicinal" or synthetic from this like some, I get something very warm, very gourmand, quite whiskey/liquerous and vanilla (with also wood undertones). it smells different than any of leather oud, oud ispahan, santal noir, and purple oud. its not a version of any of these fragrances whatsoever. if there are some similarities during the progression of Oud Rosewood to any of those fragrances it is less than 10% similarity , even 5%. its to be expected due to some shared ingredients and being from the same house. K’bridge was lovely! XJ managed to do their own interpretation of this dna without anything too harsh or overly synthetic smelling. My problem with k’bridge club was that it didn’t project and for the money I do expect to be able to smell it on myself for the majority of the working day.
