About this deal

Special Agent Bobby Dees wird mit ihrem Fall betraut, der sich bald zum Horror eines jeden Ermittlers entpuppt... Newly promoted DI Madeleine Wood is given the task of investigating the killings. She is married with two children who she never sees. Madeline is annoyed she was assigned the case because the other DI's would not touch the case. When 13-year-old Lainey does not come home from a night out with friends, her parents and local police seem unconcerned. Lainey’s older sister had a history of running away, and everyone believes this tendency seems to run in this family. But Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Special Agent Booby Dees, who heads up the agency’s Crimes Against Children Squad, sees something else that sets off his cop-radar.

Nevermind the fact that he’s a senior in high school, he’s hot and he seems interested in her. Lainey’s only worry when Zach suggests they meet in person is that the high schooler will discover her real age. Two days later, Lainey’s mother reports her missing. Bobby Dees, an officer with the Crimes Against Children Squad, is called in to investigate. Though most are sure Lainey is just another teen runaway, Dees is not convinced. Turns out he’s right and the case is much more complicated than anyone imagined. Soon a killer begins sending personal messages to Dees, messages that include gruesome clues linking more missing girls in the area to Lainey’s case. This latest from Hoffman is an intense thriller about a very timely subject. I don’t know if there are any plans for more Bobby Dees stories, but I could easily see this developing into an intense series with lots of possibilities. A definite recommended read for thriller fans.” Local parents are keeping their daughters close to them after recent events, but with the teenagers not taking the situation seriously, the safety of their daughters become an obsession rather than a necessity. Can the police find out the truth? Will the police find the killer before they find another body? Time is of the essence...

Pretty Little Things tells the story of Elaine Emerson know as Lainey. She is a normal girl except for the fact that she might as well be invisible in her own home. Her mother is too busy to know or care what she does, her little brother can do no wrong, her step-father is too busy at work and her elder sister no longer bothers coming home. So when Lainey is left to her own devices online, things go terribly wrong. With their recent house move and the loss of all of her school friends Lainey is finding it hard enough as it is to fit in at her new school, so when a handsome boy makes friends with her online she sees no reason why she shouldn't meet up with him. For Lainey this is where it all goes wrong. Where she is taken and who has taken her she can't say but she does know that she is scared and that she isn't alone. Brennan Clost as Shane McRae, [4] an openly gay dancer who is secretly sleeping with his roommate, Oren He tells them, ‘Slay, therefore, every male child and every woman who has had intercourse with a man.’” It’s Dynastymeets Patricia Highsmith.. . . Duplicity abounds when two messed-up clans collide, and Brown’s final multiple twists are doozies.” — TheWashington Post Six months ago, Charlotte almost lost everything. Now, she’s determined to keep her daughter, Elle, safe. So when local girls close to Elle in age and appearance begin to go missing, it’s her worst nightmare.I found Pretty Little Things to be a bit of a mixed bag for my personal taste but have rated it 4 stars because I recognise the novel's strengths and know that most readers will love it. The novel is mostly told in the first person by Chalotte Moore with a switch of perspective to DI Madeleine Woods' investigation from time to time and an occasional interjection from "Anon". I chose to read this novel as I love police procedurals but the police perspective is muted with Ms Walsh preferring to concentrate on Charlotte, so it's another novel, another unreliable narrator. I really struggle with this approach as flaky characters don't hold my interest and I get annoyed with their poor decision making. The Israelites have saved the women!” the preacher boomed. “And Moses, well, he says, ‘So you’ve spared all the women? Why? Why, when they’re the very ones who have caused a plague to strike the Lord’s people! Why did you spare them?’” The end is twisted, unexpected and I guess no single reader has guessed it until now! I doubt any reader will.

December 14th, 2020 was the release date for the first season of Tiny Pretty Things, and over the past ten months, we’ve learned of little to no news from Netflix regarding the future of the series. This reservation aside, Ms Walsh does an excellent job of ramping up the tension and disguising the killer's identity and motive. I was clueless and had several suspects in mind as the novel progressed. The last few chapters are masterful as the full scale of events is revealed. It's fair to say you won't see it coming and while it may not be the most believable ending it fits the novel completely. We believe style should be accessible to all, whatever your budget, as we deliver product inspired from the catwalk and the coolest muses of the moment. Our girl knows she can trust in us for everything she needs from the latest trend-led pieces to celebrity inspired looks, to the everyday wardrobe staples and that ultimate party piece. Her insecurities and post-traumatic stress have become consistently worse, especially because she refuses to seek any medical attention. Her husband has started to look elsewhere for comfort, her daughter resents the control issues her mother has, and Charlotte herself has become too attached to the man who saved her life.

Do you know that your kids DSi or xBox can communicate to other online users and that neither they or you know who they are REALLY communicating with? As a parent who raised two children just on the cusp of the cell phone, IM explosion and dealt with some on these issues myself, and having no idea how cleaver these kids can be when trying to keep something hidden from you. I can't stress to parents enough how accurate this novel was. As clever as kids are, so are the predators, more so, in fact. These kids want be to grown up, but they still need a watchful eye on them at all times. They can be at home, safe and sound, but a predator is right there in their rooms with them, via computers and smart phones, tempting them and luring them into a clever trap and you will never seen it coming. Certain messaging applications leave no record making it impossible to determine what might have happened in a worst case scenario. It literally sent chills down my spine reading about it, thinking about what these kids suffer and if they are fortunate enough to survive, how their lives will never, ever be the same. The series revolves around the goings on at a ballet school in Chicago, and focuses on the school's students, instructors, administrators, and benefactors. The dancing in the show is performed by the actors themselves, not doubles. [3] This is Hoffman’s best work ever. And yes, it is better than Retribution! In an era where authors are shying away from the technology of cell phones, internet, forensics, etc., by setting their books in the 1980’s and 90’s, Hoffman steps up to the hi-tech mountain by devising a plot based on chat rooms and internet anonymity. And she does it in an uncomplicated, highly readable style. The girl nodded as tears ran down her cheeks. She smiled at the preacher and then out at her parents. “Yes,” she answered. “I am pure.” With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an open and honest review..
