About this deal

SPOILERS FOLLOW - and, honestly, this shouldn’t even be a spoiler - this should be a d*mn TRIGGER WARNING ***** McMaster finally gives the Queen Alexandra her happy ending!! Alexandra has suffered so much on the hand of her evil consort. She also lost her son years ago. Understandable that she has trauma when dealing with physical relationship. Sir Gideon Scott is her friend and unbeknownst to Alexandra, has been loving the queen forever.

Even for a novella, Bec McMaster has to bring in some drama and plots. Not only is Alexandra trying to find a new husband thanks to Malloryn’s suggestions that it will sure up the line of succession, the Rogues are fending off an assassin attempt against her from an unknown assailant. I loved seeing all the Rogues again in this as they work to uncover who the bad guy was. I will say, I did predict the bad person early on, but I still really liked the self-contained plot in this novel. Big London kiss to NetGalley, Sarra Manning and Hodder & Stoughton for an advanced copy of this book ! Two - I was very positively excited about the release of this book. I noted the US release date, and was anxiously anticipating a stellar romantic read from a favorite author.

No to mention sweet and sensual, especially while – as a very tactile couple – they just couldn't keep their hands off each other. I loved getting to know the queen - I don't know that I ever realized her name, or if we knew it. She's well on the road to recovery from the mental and physical abuse of the previous prince consort. She doesn't want to marry and has already given her heart to Sir Gideon, a human. Theirs is a sweet romance; he the perfect, patient partner who helps her overcome the last of her lingering fears. The mystery of who is trying to take down the queen is exciting and brings together the Rogues. The author also hints at a spinoff series to come.

Through the story we see two wonderfully, strong women work their way through pain, resentment and tragedy and come out the other end as changed, changed for the better. From reading the content from other reviewers here, I was able to discover that this book, which takes place primarily in LONDON, was going to include events that took place in NEW YORK in 2001. With zero warning.

NEW SERIES. I was 100000% ecstatic to read that there would be more London Steampunk books! Especially after To Catch A Rogue, I was dying to know more about the Russian court (in particular, Nikolai). Emilia St. George is moments away from marrying the admired grandson of a duke when the man who once jilted her decides to kidnap her at the altar. It’s the second time in five years Hamilton Sparrow has ruined her wedding day, and Emilia isn’t about to forgive him. The mere sight of her ex-fiancé revives painful memories—and, most regrettably, aching desires that refuse to be ignored.
