Because of being not as powerful and a different type of disposable bag, the eufy RoboVac LR30 Hybrid+ is cheaper. The only difference between this model and the RoboVac L35 Hybrid+ is suction power (3,000 Pa vs. 3,200 Pa) and the L35+ Hybrid uses an anti-bacterial and deodorizing dust bag while the LR30 has a standard disposable bag. Other specifications are the same. In Auto mode, which you’ll probably use most often, it’s not too loud. One of my few complaints about the Roomba 675 is how loud it runs. The RoboVac G30, on the other hand, didn’t bother me, even with BoostIQ enabled, which Eufy warns can increase the noise level. I’ve tried other vacuums with a 2000Pa suction power, and this one has been the only model so far that hasn’t been able to lift my cat’s kibble crumbs from my plank flooring. I find myself often being left re-vacuuming the edges of my rooms and areas around my cat’s food bowls, which can be a bit of a hassle. That being said, other key areas of my home were cleaned up perfectly, including areas with dust, crumbs, and kitty litter, so it is definitely still saving me time overall.
The Eufy Home app is pretty minimal, with the upside being that it’s a breeze to navigate. The top of the home screen displays the vacuum’s battery level along with cleaning area and cleaning time stats. Vacuum controls, a scheduling option, and detailed cleaning history are accessible from a tool menu on the bottom of the screen. But I wasn’t crazy about the fact you must open a separate pop-up window every time you want to view the map, especially since the valuable real estate in the center the home screen, where other robot vacuum apps typically locate the floor plan, was here occupied by a static graphic of a living room. On test, the Eufy G30 Hybrid impressed with its suction power on both carpets and hard floors. It collected fine dust, cookie crumbs and larger debris – including cereal – with ease, even on the lowest power setting. Capable of mopping as well as vacuuming on hard floors, the G30 Hybrid will happily slosh water over your floors to remove fresh dirt. However, it doesn’t have a scrubbing action, so struggles with tougher, ground-in dirt and stains. As you might expect from a parent company like Anker, this vacuum boasts an impressive battery life. It has a runtime of up to 110 minutes (or 1 hour and 50 minutes) on a single charge, which is pretty impressive!
The RoboVac 15C and 30C support wi-fi. Because of the Wi-Fi support, the eufy 15C and 30C are compatible with Alexa-enabled devices and Google Home. With the app, you can switch between cleaning modes, start/stop, and schedule the robot. However, in my experience, the centre of the cleaning area appeared to move as the RoboVac’s arcs got wider, sometimes moving away from the area I wanted cleaned. The G30 is only slightly cheaper than the G30 Edge so it seems a worthwhile upgrade to utilise the no-go zones feature, especially considering it comes with boundary strips included. This robot vacuum also uses a brushless motor. That isn’t to say that there are no brushes on it; it still uses side brushes and a brush roll to collect dirt and debris. The motor, however, is brushless, so the G30 is much quieter than most vacuums or robot vacuums during operation despite its maximum of 2000Pa suction power. It’s so quiet, in fact, that the noise level of the RoboVac G30’s wheels on the floor is comparable to the sound of its motor. Eufy promises that, at 55-68dB, it’s about as loud as a microwave oven, and I have to agree. If you like to turn your robot vacuum before quiet times, you’ll really appreciate its super-low operating volume—and if, like me, you have a pet that’s a little anxious, they’ll love it, too. However, I recommend keeping in mind that the G30 is on the weaker side for a robot vacuum, and requires a watchful eye to make sure its accessories stay on during use. You can also see how much battery it has left. There’s also no way to set virtual no-go zones in the Eufy app, which is something you can do with more advanced rivals like the Neato Botvac D7 Connected. To stop the RoboVac visiting certain areas, you have to apply the supplied tape to the floor.
