About this deal

Their positioning seems strange, although I appreciate such accuracy when compared with the animated series. One poster features a Special Ops Clone Trooper beneath an Aurebesh word which reads 'HISTORY', although the word 'MONTHLY should appear underneath. The second poster displays an imposing Providence-class Dreadnought engaging with a Venator-class Star Destroyer. The caption above reads 'SPACE BATTLES'. Our build starts with the Speeder bikes: Bags 3-4 Bags 5&6: completing the wing assemblies, and cowling. Bag 7:Dorsal fin and cabin roof/detail.

Hunter also has his unique gunmetal grey helmet, which looks good. I always like it when LEGO includes both hairpieces and helmets for relevant minifigures. Hunter's helmet is shared with standard Phase II Clone Troopers, albeit incorporating unique decoration. Even though an exclusive element would have been ideal, I think this component works nicely and the printing looks impressive. Tech does feature his own specialised helmet which includes lovely moulded detail, corresponding with the original character and exhibiting accurate accents. Many fans will probably buy this set for Cad Bane, but I still think the minifigure selection could have been improved. While Hunter and Fennec are both very relevant to the scene, the fact that they’re both reused figures is kind of disappointing for a set at this price point.

Her hairpiece isn’t 100% accurate but I’m just glad LEGO included one as an option, so you can switch between helmeted and helmetless looks. The Havoc Marauder is the official name of the shuttle, but I cannot recall hear it referred to more than once or twice over the multiple episodes that it has appeared in. I initially approached this part of the build with quite a bit of trepidation: I have a few difficulties perceiving firm differences between blues and greys, especially when working without a reference colour. However, the instructions were easy to follow, and clear enough for me to be able to use despite I give the set 4/5 Arbitrary praise units. If you are a fan of the Bad Batch – whether from the final season of The Clone Wars, or their own program, you will probably get joy from this set. The build itself was fairly straight forward, and I was surprised at the quality of colour delineation in the instruction manual – instructions were quite clear, and I did not find myself confusing sand blue and medium stone grey at any point.

Spring-loaded shooters are cleverly concealed beneath the fuselage, providing welcome play value without affecting the appearance of the shuttle. They can be accidentally activated quite easily though and the absence of landing gear is frustrating because there is definitely enough space for simple landing struts, even if they were removable instead of folding. And … that’s all the minifigs. If you’re caught up on The Clone Wars enough to be watching The Bad Batch as it airs, a key character is clearly missing from the minifig assortment: Omega. Five minifigs make sense for the price point, and of course, we would want all members of the original Clone Force 99, but the set feels incomplete without this new character. Conclusions & recommendation The other speeder bike is a civilian design, named the Rawlings TK5. Hunter commandeered one such vehicle on Pantora. I love the lime green livery, accented with white stripes adorning the bodywork and adjustable thrust pods. These correspond precisely with the source material and the length of 14cm seems reasonably authentic too. Moreover, the outriggers look suitably slender but feel rigid.

I was honestly surprised when I finished the model as this section definitely looks like it needs a few more pieces to finish it off. While it’s not reasonable to expect a UCS-style vehicle that’s “properly” minifig-scale (as variable as the definition for that may also be), the minifigs that accompany this set dwarf the shuttle itself. The next minifigure is Fennec Shand, who is also not new; however, this is the first set which includes Fennec with both her hair and helmet. It’s frankly an odd choice at this price point to begin with, as the Justifier isn’t really an iconic ship so the high price tag is even more of a hard sell. These large flaps on each wing can open up (and are held down only by gravity), but unfortunately you won’t find more interior space underneath.

Keepability [3] – The Cad Bane and Omega figures will be really desirable but the ship itself isn’t particularly iconic nor memorable. It’s worth noting that the ship doesn’t have to be in landing mode to be on display, as it balances on a flat surface in both landing and flight mode. The wings are also able to pivot up and down. After attaching them, we build some cowling over the engines. The nose of the shuttle in the source material consists of a number of converging slopes, with sloped Briggs and hinged creating a variety of shapes on the front of the craft. SNOTwork. (Studs not on top) to the sides she’s the sides slope inwards as well, resulting in a relatively smooth nose. The forward cabin sits two minifigures, one in front of the other. From here, we work on the rear cabin, which attaches to the front via several technic pins.

She has great printed details on her torso, legs, and arms, plus a double-sided face with smiling and smirking expressions. There are some exposed colourful Technic elements behind, but I don’t mind too much as covering them up would’ve significantly reduced the already limited space in this section.
