About this deal

With the holes drilled, insert the end of your dowel rod into a hole. Make sure it’s a secure fit, because the dowel rod is going to act as a rawlplug, giving the nails of the gripper rod something to sink into. Panel pin:They are round and lightweight nails. They are used for cabinet-making and for fixing small moldings into place as well. They are handy and easy to use type. Our older cat stopped climbing fences about a year ago but if he was chased over that way he could get really hurt not being as agile as he used to be. We recently got his diabetes into remission with insulin and obviously want to protect him and keep him as well as possible. We brought him with us to the UK from NZ when he was about 2.5. Cat's are as much a part of our family as our human children. Less trouble though (just kidding) If you are like me, it doesn’t matter how careful you are when painting your toenails because a rogue blob of nail varnish almost always finds its way onto the carpet!

No promises that this will work but it may be worth exploring. You would probably need evidence from other neighbours too. I know it's been used where people have rubbish piling up in the garden and causing issues for others in the community so it may be an option.

a)the conduct of the individual or body is having a detrimental effect, of a persistent or continuing nature, on the quality of life of those in the locality, and I would have written here sooner but I fully expected our Council (Canterbury) to be able to act sooner. Use the saw to cut the rawlplug off at floor level, as if you were filling a hole. Repeat this with all the holes you’ve drilled.

Carpet pin nails have round heads, made of sturdy plastic. The white decorative nail head is neat and clean. Rinse the area clean with a new neutral-coloured cloth that’s been dipped in some soapy water (washing-up liquid and water). Now, on to actually removing the gripper… Starting at one end of the room, use a chisel to get underneath the gripper and gently hammer along the length of the gripper to loosen it up. You should then be able to lever the nails/adhesive loose and remove them from the floor to make space for new ones. Also, some carpets are made with built-in cushions, which can make it even harder to get a staple through the base. However, if you have a solid floor like concrete or asphalt, we always recommend a bead of Gripfill as well as nails (the nails are designed to go into concrete).

Spray a generous amount of hairspray onto the stained patch (you must use one with a high alcohol content). Push the sheets together and nail the edges where the sheets meet first. When you finish the first row of boards the last one will need to be cut to size. a) isnt, only the perceived quality of life of the OPs cats, and, sorry but in this instance they dont count,

Note: Don’t soak your carpet because it’ll take ages to dry! Always pat your carpet with a neutral-coloured cloth to remove excess liquid from it when you’re done treating it. You cannot simply begin punching staples into the carpet, or you will end up with visible dimples in the carpet. Instead, make sure that you carefully spread the fibers and put enough distance between each staple. What Size Staples Do You Use On Carpet?

It’s easier to compare the intent of your staples and nails rather than the blunt strength. That’s because staples have a larger head than nails and include two limbs specifically designed to hold things together. So, even though staples are thinner, they can sometimes be stronger. You should now have holes filled with dowel rod, ready to accept the fixing nails of your gripper bar. Get your hammer, and hammer those fixing nails into the dowel rods. You can try to use brad nails, which are extra thin nails with a smaller head. These are often used for finishing because they do a good job of staying out of sight. But brad nails also have a naturally thin design, which can makes them a poor substitute for heavy-duty carpet staples. You can read the post " What Size Brad Nails Do I Need? [By Type Of Project]" to get a clear idea of where these nails are ideal. Summary

When we were on better terms with the neighbors in question some years ago they told us they have friends at the Council and we have no doubt that this is in fact true. If you’ve chosen to go down the DIY route, make sure you read this article in full. It will help ensure your project is a success. It will also help you minimise mistakes and keep frustrations to a minimum.
