About this deal

While the low end on the newer HS55 Wireless is a bit disappointing, the inclusion of Dolby Audio 7.1 virtual surround sound more than makes up for it. When engaged, the soundstage is wider and more three-dimensional, making you feel like you’re right in the action. Turning on surround sound does soften the headset’s brightness a little bit, but that wider soundstage is worth it. And, even with it on, the sound imaging is still precise.

As i said audio is subjective so you may not like the software integrated 7.1 audio. But to me it is fabulous.Unfortunately, the newer HS55 Wireless isn’t quite as solid when it comes to the low end. In games like Control and Cyberpunk 2077, I’ve noticed that explosions and other sounds that require that rumble for maximum effect just don’t have it – unlike the older HS55 Wireless Core, which delivers enough of it to give you just a bit of that body-shaking immersion. Songs and movies that normally sound great might sound out of balance since the audio drivers are pushing the low end harder than normal. This might be great for gaming, but the bass in Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” was more accentuated so that the bass seemed as noticeable as the vocals. It does inherit its 2022 predecessor's overall design and look, which I think is elegant and modern but still gaming-inspired. With it comes an eye-catching silver and white colourway, some plush memory foam padding, and 50mm drivers that should offer some decent all-round audio on a vast range of devices – from your PS5 to a Nintendo Switch and PC.

The sound quality is good overall, though not quite as rich and as full as we hoped. At default, there’s plenty of bass here, though perhaps not enough low bass extension to deliver that rumble you want from games and movies. There’s decent high end as well, but it’s a little rolled off so it doesn’t sound as crisp and detailed. The mid-range sounds a little recessed, particularly affecting the dialogue, which isn’t as crisp and clear. While you can still hear what the characters are saying, it sounds a little hollow. If so, the issue may be caused by the latest iCUE software update coming into conflict with your Windows build. You can try one of the following fixes below.Ultimately, this is a headset that pushes balance to the side and leans into its warm, boomy sound signature. You’ll be able to hear those competitive cues well — but if you want clarity and detail through the spectrum, this isn’t the headset for you. Microphone Quality on the Corsair HS55 Wireless Core REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE: We will either repair your device within the promised time or give a replacement FREE OF COST. The biggest upgrade on the Corsair HS55 Wireless is in its sonic performance. While it does share a lot of similarities with the HS55 Wireless Core – they both tend to compress a little once the volume is over 50, it also corrects some of its predecessor’s flaws. Corsair has always had a reputation for creating clean-looking products, and the Corsair HS55 Stereo conforms to that ideal. My review sample was of the white and silver colour option, which gives the headset a modern look. There are bountiful reasons as to why a wireless gaming headset is a good decision. The most obvious being the freedom to get up and walk away from your desk at any time without dragging your PC tower off with you. A wired headset is hardly a hassle, but I'll admit it is nice to not have to keep taking my headset on and off every time I run off for a bathroom break or to grab a coffee between raid encounters. I've been testing a wired headset for the past few weeks, and so the Corsair's wire-free functionality has been a bit of a blessing.
