In the Australian bunker, Penguin demands to know the progress of Ivo's androids, which he replies with are nearly done. Learning from Cyborg that there's a cure for the infection, Jon rushes to stop an enraged Green Canary from killing Wonder Woman but is too late and is accidentally injured by the kryptonite sword in the process. I suppose DCeased was a creative mash-up of DC superheroes and zombies, it just didn’t make for all that compelling reading.

DCeased: Dead Planet collects issues 1-7 of the series written by Tom Taylor with art by Trevor Hairsine. Admittedly, that sounds a little thin, but we're talking about a story revolving around people who were turned into zombies by their phones. Chimp also deduces that they may need the knowledge of the New Gods to help them, only for Cyborg to reveal Darkseid is dead. It's then that Blood transforms into Etrigan and warns Constantine of the coming danger, the demon Trigon is coming to wipe out the Anti-Living. Back in Australia however, the survivors are met by Penguin, Maxwell Lord and Jason Blood, learning the area is a haven for their own army and their families, who serve as cooking and cleaning staff.On the bus, Mirror Master attacks Slade before taking two of the children through the windows, but Cheetah kills Mirror Master before he can take Matilda. Sometime later, in the fragments of Apokolips, Miracle awaits the arrival of Metron and sure enough he arrives. Creeper saves Solomon Grundy from a swarm of infected as the remaining group retreat deeper into the orphanage. That's when they learn that Jon's father is still within the sun, absorbing solar energy, even after 5 long years. Mister Miracle convinces Green Canary to let Big Barda be the first test subject and she is subsequently healed when Jon injects the cure into her.

Taylor has written for Marvel, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, IDW Publishing, Boom Studios, Wildstorm, 2000 AD and Gestalt Comics.I always say that I would rather have something leaving me wanting more instead of wearing out its welcome. Tactfully exploring these familiar characters as older and mature heroes, he brilliantly captures their personalities and motives without sacrificing those for meaningless action. In Liverpool, John Constantine escapes from a mob of infected only to find his long time companion Chas has turned. A single Amazo remained, attacking both of them, resulting in Jon holding him in place, while Damian placed a bomb on it's head, taking it out. Damian is able to enter the flagship's throne room, where a fight almost breaks out between them, but Jon stops him and begin negotiations with his mother Lois, now leading those on Earth 2.
