Admittedly I also initially bought this perfume with the idea of evoking the feeling of a jazz club: boozy like rum or whiskey, smokey, a bit dark and dimmed. The tobacco and top notes faded out right after the initial spray, revealing the warmer rum and vanilla notes, which lasted several hours after. Smoking and drinking places (and people) do not smell this tranquil or gentle, or at least not the ones I know of lol.

Wonderfully smoky and sweet (but not candy sweet) I wear this out when I don’t want to smell like flowers or fruit. Boozy and woody tobacco, wears much sweeter and fresher than one would expect, the vanilla adds a nice creamy backdrop. A small bit of this is enough (imo) and I’d recommend testing it on your skin first, two sprays, and analyzing throughout the day how this works for you before going all out. The scent strongly reminds me of fake plants, vinyl seating, booze spilled on the floor making it sticky. Then, i got a sample of it in one of those Sephora perfume sets and decided to give it a try again since it was so raved about and the notes made me want to make it work. edit: if i was having a special day/night out in the fall or winter i would wear this but for everyday use it feels a bit heavy handed. I don't sense any of the notes indicated except tobacco :( Sillage is ok but longevity is very poor.

While this scent is unisex, if you are a man who is looking for a signature scent that is masculine but not in the vein of a Paco Ribanne or any of the louder club-scents, I recommend looking into this one.
