About this deal

While the original Dragon Ball anime followed Goku through childhood into adulthood, Dragon Ball Z is a continuation of his adulthood life, but at the same time parallels the maturation of his son, Gohan, as well as other characters from Dragon Ball and more.

But quite apart from the luxurious extras, you get a whopping 37 Blu-Ray discs featuring just shy of 300 episodes, comprising the complete original series. However Delgadillo left FUNimation again, and Laura Bailey once again replaced her as Dende in all future media. Honestly would have been a much better idea, fans who grew up watching the show on Toonami would have the exact version they grew up with, and anyone that just wanted to watch the show in decent quality with its original aspect ratio, English or Japanese could do that, particularly if Funimation put out an "Edited Edition" and "Uncut Edition" for episodes 1-53 and the equivalent 1-67 respectively. If Crunchyroll cares about releasing a quality Blu-ray set of DBZ, just give us DBZ before the 30A 'remaster' or a limited print of the later Level Sets remastered episodes that were made. The release is on 4:3 aspect ratio and only includes the Japanese score, which is only in mono sound, not stereo. If there ever is a complete series version of a 90's style TV edit with Ocean Group voices I'd pay twice this much for it, but that won't happen.

It also means the series will cost you like less then 1/10th new what the dragon boxes would cost you used. Here's the thing, I don't think Funimation is perpetuating a myth or engineering a situation (intentionally anyways) I think they're looking at sales figures without bothering to figure out why they are the way the way the are. Another note is that Goku has a voice filter added when he powers up to Super Saiyan 3 in front of Innocent Buu and Babidi, which is untouched on the VHS/DVD Single releases. Also, a spectator wearing a pink hat watching the Cell Games is given two extra lines by Mike McFarland in "No More Rules" despite sounding distinctly different in the role from the original dub.Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. Goku's voice, Jeice's voice, and Bulma's voice are also left mostly intact; only one of Bulma's scenes was redubbed, a few of Jeice's lines have been redubbed and one added in episode 68, and one of Goku's lines in episode 74 is an alternate take.

Another track problem is the song ' Cha-La Head-Cha-La' is replaced by FUNimation's opening song for the movies. Vegeta fight when he is inconsistent in his pronunciation of " Kaio-ken" (though the original recorded line is still present for the US Music track). Then they didn't even bother releasing the rest of the ORIGINAL in house 54-276 dub in similar collections, because yeah that hack job Frankenstein's monster patchwork of a partial dub originally created for the Orange Bricks is NOT what ran on Toonami from 1999-2003. I’m not techy enough to comment on the transfer to blu ray but it’s good enough for me to watch without noticing anything. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

In a report, ICv2 reported that Dragon Ball Z continues to remain the number one anime property, beating out other well-known anime Pokémon and Naruto.

Kyle Hebert notably fills in a moment that was previously all silence in the beginning of "Our Hero Awakens" and again at the tail-end of "Hour of Temptation".
