It’s usually made from grapes grown in vineyards at high altitudes exposed to cool breezes off the sea. Based on 2008, it is a blend of 127 wines from eleven vintages: the oldest being 1990 and the youngest 2008.

It’s well-known for producing sweet wines like Sauternes, but it’s also used to make dry white wines, sparkling wines, and rosés. On the nose, expect notes of dried fruits and raisins, with a full-bodied palate of dried fruit, smoke and toasty oak. The palate is pleasantly dry with flavors that echo the nose along with crisp acidity and a touch of minerality on the finish.
