About this deal

Perhaps the answer lies in the eerie, enigmatic messages that Shep, with precious time running out, begins to repeat, about an entity who does his work “by the light of the moon. By the Light of the Moon is a beautiful story about bravery and wonder, and a friendship formed in the face of difference. At the Artmarket Gallery, we’re proud to display and sell an exclusive collection of Lauren Baker’s beautiful, limited edition prints.

It waxes until it becomes a giant glowing white disk in the night sky, before waning back to a silver crescent and vanishing altogether in an endlessly repeating cycle. Shep's " folding foresight" warnings from the "present to the past" allow them to escape constant chases from these men.Sure, they had lots of witty banter and one-liners (Jilly is a comic after all), and there was some kindness - but I always had the feeling that as soon as the adventure was over, they would walk away from each other without a second thought. All he's told is that he's the "carrier," not of a disease, but of something wondrous that will transform his life in remarkable ways - if it doesn't kill him in the next twenty-four hours.

Jilly's annoying attributes and Koontz's forced humour at times render this book unbearable, and at some point I considered myself unable to finish the story. I have been putting off reading (or listening to) this book because it's a rather large-ish book and the cover-blurb gave me the impression the themes of this Koontz novel were a bit more fantastical than I generally prefer. I can still tell you about Koontz stories I read 10 or more years ago, but having read By The Light Of The Moon less than 2 years ago, not much has stuck in my mind, except for some less than positive things. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged.

Of course, it wasn’t until July 1969 when humanity first set foot on the moon’s surface that we gained “first hand” experience of its reality. This one does not have a golden retriever, but it has an autistic little brother, and a female protagonist that is pretty, not gorgeous, just this side of adorable. For instance, the Galaxy Explosion series are also hand embellished with diamond dust, presented in stunning neon tones of turquoise, pink and indigo. The characters are pretty much standard Koontz, though they're nowhere as irritating as some of his creations - I'd even say they're sympathetic.

In horror master Koontz’s latest nightmarish thriller, a man is stalked by the woman who donated the heart that saved his perfect life. A recent sculptural work (inspired by the shifting interplay of the Sun and the Moon) appeared in a UNESCO World Heritage desert site in Saudi Arabia, in March 2020.
