Players will find a wealth of giant-themed character options: a subclass for barbarians, two backgrounds related to giants and their runic magic, and feat options that evoke the strength and primal magic of the giants. The book offers advice on how to connect a character using any of these options to the lore of the giants, whether to draw a direct line of ancestry, draw power from an artifact, or worship the gods of the giants. This could be used to safely move allies or reposition enemies, with the possibility to deal damage by tossing a foe onto a space that doesn't support them. There is something for players, but it’s not much – a few backgrounds (giant foundling, rune carver) and one subclass (the barbarian’s Path of the Giant).

It’s possible that other products (such as DM screens and tie-in adventures) will also be coming out after launch, although nothing has officially been announced by Wizards of the Coast. There are also more than 70 pages of bestiary for when the DM does want to have fights against giants. Instead, he’s been reincarnated as a gnome after being crushed by a giant (something which will be covered in greater detail in the book).Tyler has a long-standing love for building characters and for game mechanics, and brings that enthusiasm to everything he creates. There’s also a lot of effort to expand on the giant’s larger cultural structure, pushing them towards something a bit more than being big plus one obsession per giant type. Hill Giants: Arguably, the weakest and least intelligent giants, they can be quick to anger and often roam the wilds.

That book provided players and DMs with an in-depth view of all-things related to dragons, including a number of new races, spells, magic items and adventure ideas.No matter what strikes the fancy of players or dungeon masters among the subclass, background, and feat options in Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants, the new sourcebook offers plenty of new ways to bring variety to the game table. Rune Magic unlocks the knowledge of a number of runes equal to half of the character's proficiency bonus, which can be inscribed onto objects once per long rest to allow for spellcasting. In total, the new material in Glory of the Giants that directly contributes to choices for character building amounts to one subclass, two backgrounds, and eight feats. Glory of the Giants leaves me wanting to break out some of those pretty giant-sized miniatures I’ve got sitting on my shelf and get them back into the game.
