The wheel kit includes a set of stickers to mark it like the real thing, and assign the controls accordingly.
They are recommended build setups that include everything from the racing wheel to the cockpit and everything in between. Although the positioning of the buttons on this rim are close to the handles, meaning this is still achievable.The grips mould really nicely to the contours of your hands and you can see on the wheel there are little indentions where your thumbs sit. With the older metal band cinching system being replaced by the new and much better tool free quick release system. This is a full-scale replica of the wheel used in the 2015 McLaren 650S GT3 race car on the circuits.
The previous McLaren GT3 wheel used an old quick release where you needed a tool to secure and detach the quick release. The d-pad is a bit innocuous, as it actually is a knob that can be rotated to perform different functions as well.I'm really disappointed that Fanatec continues to sell a product that so many people have issues with so soon after starting to use it. I bought mine second hand and got some good mileage out of them but I feel like I need to be completely transparent. However, and we’ll cover it in more detail later, Fanatec doesn’t have many competitors in this space.
When a company makes hardware on this scale, there are going to be plenty of stories of bad experiences. Luckily it did exactly what it was supposed to do and I was able to update the firmware of the base and steering wheel separately.These last buttons are intended to toggle the pit speed limiter and to engage neutral, Fanatec going so far as to model the resistance of each button to match that in the real car.
