About this deal

I'm looking forward to a dry reasonable day when I can get the car cleaned up and tucked away in the garage while I start playing with these new products. Another cool thing about phosphor acid, if there is still rust left from a treatment, it highlights it with visible black spots and white powder growing over it. So I decided a little light project might help me snap out of it, and I bought an old and abused Aladdin Blue Flame paraffin heater. Hydrate 80 provides powerful protection to rusted steel surfaces, its electrochemical function stabilises existing corrosion by converting the iron oxides into a protective metal complex, it also combines with surface moisture and oxygen depriving the corrosion process of the conditions it requires.

On the mig forum there has also been discussion about the Lechler 29107 epoxy primer, which although described as 2 pack, is possibly non iso. Proven long-term rust prevention over partially prepared surfaces – massively increases the life of paint applied to partially cleaned steel.Come join the discussion about methods, materials, equipment, restoration, classifieds, troubleshooting, and more!

I just checked the thermometer app on my phone, and my bedrooms now dropped to a "Bracing" 12'C, but it's apparently just above freezing outside. As Hydrate 80 will activate on clean steel the affected area should be cleaned beyond the visibly corroded surface, this will ensure complete treatment. The paint I've got is apparently good for 800'C, and as I've never seen the smaller diameter unpainted chimneys on the Aladdin greenhouse paraffin heaters so much as start to glow I'm assuming it's going to be somewhere south of 550/600'C, so I'm hoping it'll be fine. However, like with anything, you need to make sure it's cleaned rust and there is nothing lose left on the surface. Spray application should be made by first applying light mist coat which is left to tack dry (5-10mins) then apply full coat not to excess.
