About this deal

That in itself is heartbreaking but reading her story gives you strength, anxiety and bucket loads of laughter, tears and hope. Irritatingly, if you want a "what happens next" there's a sequel although until the very last page there is no indication that this is not a standalone. When fans around the world demanded more, the highly anticipated sequel, The Ridiculous Misadventures of a Single Girl, and the podcast FML Talk were born—and Gabrielle soon realized that her broken heart had bloomed a movement. But for real, the entire time reading this book, I literally just kept thinking, why is this a book?

Imagine Eat, Pray, Love written by a Kardashian, and you will have a good idea of what this book is like.

And how she’s always been drawn to Hispanic culture and men and that Javier was not her only hispanic bf and won’t be her last. She keeps saying she’s a famous actress but I had to google her and she barely scratches the surface of D movies.

Javier is ( supposedly, according to the internet) actor Ignacio Serricchio, which was super easy to find online (though obviously, I don’t know this for certain, this is just what I saw online, so this could be wrong). Nice that she shares her story and is exciting and certainly many can relate to but unnecessarily with fatshaming, reinforcing beauty ideals and more . I do not condone cheating, but I found that throughout the book even though the author tried not to be judgemental, she came off as very judgemental in certain situations.Gabrielle had been married for about a year and a half when she discovered her husband had been having an affair for six months, so she filed for divorce. I found out about your book just after I had 2 freaking roller coaster relationships and were stuck in the third. She partied with other Americans (or Canadians) across the major destination cities of Western Europe.

I honestly don’t know how this became a book and had to check if it was self-published because I honestly cannot imagine any publisher or any publishing house reading this and thinking, “we can make money from this.So THANK YOU for helping me not being the broken girl anymore but the self loving woman that got healing and one day hopefully even closure. But I was cringing so hard about Javier and her being madly in love with him after only a few weeks and obsessing over him and even texting his mom and his sister who she had met briefly to discuss private details of her relationship with him when he had told her he only sees her as a friend. I don't want to get into too much detail to spoil anything, but I think it is a great reminder that healing TAKES TIME.

Starts off strong but then dissolves into a boring washout of whirlwind travel fueled by lack of sleep, heavy partying and constant social time with strangers punctuated by long self involved ramblings interspersed with a tiny few grounded and wise "aha" moments. She really could have turned this into something big, but with each page I turned, the more I realized that the author just wants to talk about herself. The level of concern that her family seems to carry for her matches the concern for a toddler going into Afghanistan.Elizabeth Gilbert almost immediately fell "in like" with David Piccolo, also an actor, who was much younger than she was but who introduced her to the yogi whose ashram Gilbert visited during the "Pray" section of the book.
