About this deal

His music video, a zero-gravity version of David Bowie's "Space Oddity," has nearly 50 million views, and his TED talk on fear has been viewed over 10 million times. This is a good book for talking about overcoming your fears and following your dreams (and the first moonwalk).

And the next day when it gets dark, everyone huddles around the television and together they watch the moon landing. But when Chris watches the first televised moon landing, he discovers that there is a dark out in Space that is much darker than he's used to. Chris Hadfield nous raconte à travers ce livre sa motivation à devenir astronaute comme si il nous étions son confident. But when he watches the Apollo 11 moon landing on TV in July of 1969, while on vacation on Stag Island, Ontario, he realizes that outer space, the very thing he finds most entrancing, is the darkest dark there is. After months of waiting, they can’t stand the anticipation anymore and rip open the box to turn it on.This group of children had a real fascination with space and loved to hear the story of a real-life astronaut! El libro, tiene las tapas blanditas pero su encuadernación, grosor de hojas e impresión es bastante buena.

Hadfield most recently served as Commander of the International Space Station where, while conducting a record-setting number of scientific experiments and overseeing an emergency spacewalk, he gained worldwide acclaim for his breathtaking photographs and educational videos about life in space. The story provides a beautiful, innocent account of the common childhood fear of being scared or the dark and what can be found hiding within it.This book is about the astronaut Chris Hadfield; including his childhood dreams of becoming an astronaut and what inspired him to be an astronaut (the moon landing). The illustrations of the book were beautiful, the children loved looking at them and pointing out different space items hiding in the background. The artwork takes us from his home to the moon and beyond in strikingly beautiful atmospheric spreads, and it’s a book to inspire children with the wonder of space and all the opportunities life holds for them.

Young Chris is afraid of the dark until he sees the Eagle land on the moon and is moved by the beauty of space. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. As if a book written by and featuring Chris Hadfield isn't great enough, his first kids book includes the family pet - a pug! In astronaut Chris Hadfield's case, that's what he literally did: conquered his fear of the dark after seeing the first moon landing.S. Navy test pilot of the year in 1991, Colonel Hadfield was CAPCOM for twenty-five Shuttle missions and NASA’s Director of Operations in Russia. In the story, Chris realises that you’re never really alone because your dreams are always there with you. He is also the author of You Are Here , a book of breathtaking photos taken from space, and The Darkest Dark – his first ever children's picture book.

A young boy dreams of space but fears the dark in this engaging picture-book autobiography from Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, co-written with Kate Fillion and illustrated by the fabulously talented Fan brothers. I loved everything about this book and although the style of illustrations weren't appealing to everyone, they still had amazing details that left my eyes scanning the pages back and forth way after I finished reading. That young Chris goes from fearing the dark to understanding it and therefore conquering his fear, allowing him to follow his dreams is a powerful message. Brothers Eric Fan and Terry Fan worked together on the atmospheric illustrations in Chris Hadfield's The Darkest Dark . The story definitely left a lasting impression on me and I hope adults pick up this book to cherish it with their hearts as well. His music video, a zero-gravity version of David Bowie's "Space Oddity," received over 10 million views in its first three days online. Having discovered the work of Fan brothers in their gorgeous picture-book debut, The Night Gardener, I was very excited to see this second title, and I was not disappointed. It is a truly beautiful, inspiring story that left me with a tear in my eye and a warm fuzzy feeling of determination that I must do whatever I can to ensure that my own children will also reach for the stars.
