About this deal

I loved the book and wanted it to last longer, because I missed the characters and wanted to know soooo much more about them. There was a bit of drama was was unnecessary IMO and some things left unresolved, which makes me think there might be a fifth book in this series. Imagine my delight when I read this exceptional author announced a further visit to the Professor Gabriel Emerson and his beautiful wife Julia, or Juliette as Gabriel likes to refer to her. This book left me wanting more and not in the I-can't-wait-for-the-next-book way but in the I-can't-believe-there-are-no-answers-way. Brilliantly written, Gabriel's Promise was a delightful addition to the series as Reynard is a masterful storyteller. When I saw that Sylvain Reynard was giving us another peek into the life of Julia and Gabriel I was thrilled I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. So even though it was lovely to revisit my beloved characters, I can't help but feel that this book has no added value to the series.

Gabriel’s Promise” is the book we all have been waiting for, a full length „epilogue” (from my POV) that will bring us Gabriel and Julia back to see how exactly how do they cope with parenting and new responsibilities. With the break-in of their home and dark shadows everywhere, we see Gabriel once again stop at nothing to protect what means most to him that no money could replace; his family. Sylvain was building the set up for the plot, inserting a mysterious element that was very interesting to watch, everything was progressing and happening and suddenly, when I pressed next, it was over. I only discovered the Gabriel’s Inferno series recently after another author left a comment of Facebook about watching Part 2. I was hesitant to read this book in the first place, that is the reason, why I am reading it so far after they released it.

Like each of the novels from the Gabriel Series, the author pays tribute to the Renaissance poet, Dante Alighieri with reference to both The Divine Comedy and La Vita Nuova. It was no hardship spending more time with my favourite Professor and number one book-boyfriend, watching as he and Julia tackle parenthood which definitely put a new perspective on their relationship and their careers. I’ve missed Gabriel and Julia a lot their story is breathtaking and beautiful and this book really brought so much back of what I’ve been missing. The book ends with possibilities of more novels in the series but i think it might be time to leave things be.

Fue el primer profesor que capturó mi corazón y en esta última entrega, Gabriel todavía está locamente enamorado de Julia y completamente dedicado a su pequeña familia. American readers will probably not have a problem with it, religion is so much bigger in America, but I just hate everything about it! My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself. I don't really care for romance novels, but this is one of the few series I make an exception for as the characters are really great, the plot interesting, and the writing well done.
