About this deal

Square Enix would later release the chapters in five bound volumes and announce an english release in 2020, making Cherry Magic their first boys' love manga. Thursday Drama 25:00") programming block, [a] and is also distributed through Tsutaya's online streaming service.

He’s not supposed to know, of course, but every time the two are together, Kurosawa’s lovestruck thoughts spill over and shy Adachi just doesn’t know how to react. I think this maybe has the opposite, effect, as they’re gross monsters with no sexual characteristics to begin with, but covering them up creates a different implication? Thank you, De’Siree for this gift, it was like you gifted me a piece of yourself because I know how much you love these stories.Adachi had lots of instances where he was unwillingly subjected to Kurosawa's thoughts and fantasies about him - other than the beginning of the book, Adachi mostly didn't touch Kurosawa on purpose, but some touches were unavoidable. In this episode, Deb brings back the BL and we end up with possibly the best title for a manga we’ve covered on this podcast: Cherry Magic! Plot Summary: Adachi, a thirty-year-old virgin, has developed the power to read people's minds by touching them. Faye Hopper from Anime News Network stated that while the romance was "cute", there were some concerns over humor regarding Kurosawa's explicit fantasies about Adachi.

A lot of thinking happens in this volume, and I am excited to see more as Adachi will continue to realize his feelings towards Kurosawa. This alone made me really appreciate this manga and let me tell you about all the things I loved about it. It was very amusing seeing Kurosawa get jealous of Tsuge’s friendship with Adachi; partially due to a misunderstanding. This is honestly a title I was looking for an excuse to read, so fingers crossed I can make it happen.Yeah I was uh, having a moment there, as funny as it was, but long-time listeners will know that Chip really does give me the gears for reading too much into or wanting too much from light entertainment on this podcast. It makes sense that the manga’s still coming too, because the live action drama adaptation of this book was quite the hit, even earning a movie spin-off (trailer above), and there’s an anime schedule to make it’s premiere in January 2024. It's so lovely to see healthy romance being presented in stories and Adachi and Kurosawa are being great mascots! The virginity thing wasn't needed (although growing up Ace has made me super-sensitive on the subject of virginity shaming/fetishizing), but overall the book was a lot more fun than I ever anticipated.

David mentions a time when censorship made the series arguably funnier, as the team of demons from HELL in Dragonball Z had to get digitally edited to make them safe for American kiddos, and became the HFIL, or Home For Infinite Losers. And Bianca Pistillo’s lettering continues to work well in conveying the wizardly nuances of the story, although by now, Tsuge is the only one to still be able to hear other people’s thoughts.Despite the title, it’s about two straight single dads hanging out and making dinner for their kids together. Adachi commits to keeping his distance from Kurosawa because his love is too much for him, but a conversation with his boss brings Kurosawa back close.

Speaking of things that are funny, David mentions wrestler Brian Danielson talking about floppy penises in the wrestling locker room. It really is an interesting idea, so hopefully it will pick up in both plot and less confusion in the next volume. The cover uses the visual metaphor of the invisible ‘Red Thread’ that is said to connect predestined couples together.

Adachi’s thought-reading predicament and his shy temperament means that this relationship is going to develop – or not – as a slow burn and that’s no bad thing in terms of character growth and an enjoyable read. Toyota conceptualized the story seven or eight years prior by imagining what kind of power would be best for someone who has little experience in love, as well as the legend where one will gain magical powers if they stay a virgin past 30 years old. It will be directed by Nuttapong Mongkolsawas and star Tawan Vihokratana and Thitipoom Techaapaikhun. I was hoping we'd have a bit more drama but this was also such a Kurosawa response LOL also, oomph he got dad zoned, though there's nothing wrong with having a sugar daddy, pls take me instead if he won't accept xD but just as we get through a few hurdles, we are snagged by even tougher ones. And just when it seems like Adachi might be able to take his friendship with Kurosawa to the next level, Adachi's complex about not having any romantic experience gets in the way.
