I didn't really know what I was going into before starting this but I was so intrigued by the glitz and glamour of the Mayfair setting and the secrecy surrounding the author. Large parts of this novel, including the graphic sex and the supposedly sexy flirty texts/messages are simply repetitive, boring and monotonous.Ava’s backstory was a little uncomfortable to read at times and the psychologist in me would have loved more of her time with her counsellor. It draws on her experiences as a mother and as a successful woman in buisness, navigating the brave new world of singledom. But whilst Ava has an amusing and pleasurable life, she is damaged inside, and the deep love she yearns for eludes her until finally, she finds purpose and peace in the most unexpected way.
