About this deal

It is remarkable how the Sisheido Group offers many high quality fragrances and these are usually never devalued with mainstream, cheap or even worse with cheap. By far the most beautiful bottle in the entire Issey Miyake range, it was not in vain that they won the 2005 award referred to in the perfume description. This is not for sure a flanker; it stands on its own and it has nothing to do with the original L'eau D'issey.

It opens up with a punch of juniper (tonic feeling) with lots of herbs, mainly rosemary but I do get the tartness from lemongrass and ginger as well. as a female smelling this, i received this as a sample along with 5 other samples and i've sprayed these all on paper. Hmm tastes change I guess, although certain (rough) days can give a not so great impression of a scent. When it dries out, I get very strong and vivid oakmoss, intensive patchouli, vivid cedar all well mixed and blended with distinctive amber. It smells of cypress and is extremely spicy, with rosemary and pink pepper being very prominent to my nose.

As i said, not very unique actually, it does remind me a lot of the original Cool Water from Davidoff and Green Irish Tweed- Creed. Issey Miyake (IM) is one of my favorite fragrance brands because they're not scared to be different. I blew through the first bottle without appreciation of what it was or even really how intricate a fragrance it was. It's no longer listed on the Issey Miyake site so I think it's fairly reasonable to assume that it has been discontinued (perfume houses tend to list their perfumes for a year or two after they've been discontinued, sometimes even more).

I don't like the opening at all there's something in there that leaps out on first spray and its not that pleasent. Nuit d'Issey Bleu Astral comes out in February 2017 as a new edition of the Issey Miyake masculine L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme line, namely its Nuit d'Issey subcollection. With the latter it also shares the same aggresive virility, a short of “take it or leave it”, snobby outlook. Green/herbs with a slight peppery or mild-spice kick over a mineral or watery backdrop(calone is not listed as a note but it does feel like the perfumer added a small dose of calone or a similar chemical to create a slight watery feel in the background).

I'm a big fan of layering things but I don't know if I'd tamper with this one, the balance is just right. It softens after a few minutes and I pick out another edible note - fresh sliced fennel bulb - again bringing sweetness along with a hint of celery and anise. Projection/Sillage: DECENT, good 'scent bubble' for about 1-2 hours then turn to a more in-close scent the more it dries.

Some have described this as an "Old man" style scent, but I love herbaceous notes and the rosemary in Bleue lasts the entire length of the wearing, and makes my eyes roll back in my head in delight.

I spend parts of the summer by the Mediterranean, and this fragrance shines there - especially in the warm evenings.

after they all dried, i ended putting it 6th swapping it with givenchy gentleman which smells to have a few of the same notes. And when i say mainstream freshness you probably thought it was going to be bergamot but noooo its lime because it should have that crazy twist that most of the issey miyakes has. i like the way of opening, not salty not blueish (even its name and bottle color are blue), but i wish that it could stay longer on my skin and clothes. Like the most perfect yatching fragrance because it exudes class and wealth, better fragrance than Erolfa and Virgin Island Water are for the same purpose. Ultimately you end up with a brilliant arrangement of cypress, rosemary and juniper berries being front and center, while citruses, spices, amber, and woods play a supporting role; all perfectly orchestrated in the drydown, resulting in this creatively smooth "masterpiece".
