About this deal

In some ways, the epilogue 'Three months later' detracted a bit from my overall enjoyment of the book, which was heading for a 5-star read up to then. Even without knowing the remainder of the series, the first chunk of the book had me hooked and at no point did I feel as though I missed vital information or pivotal points that are from previous books. I couldn’t have cared less about Eva, Jarvis or Stan, they weren’t even particularly villains, just collateral damage in this endless killing spree of a book. And this leads me to my main point about Blackman's writing – her characters may not be 2D cutouts but they are totally changeable!

Libby has been accepted into a family that she deserves, (and I loved how she and Troy could remain friends and have a brother-sister relationship instead of falling in love). It felt right to hear Sephy's voice again, as a matured adult, navigating the world with her two children, love interests, and criminal threats from the underworld.I still stand by the first book being unbeatable, but the entire series has been incredible and told so well it was as though it was happening before me. One aspect gaining increased attention is the notion of seeking a sexologist in Dubai to address intimate concerns.

In 2005 Malorie was honoured with the Eleanor Farjeon Award in recognition of her distinguished contribution to the world of children's books. It still sticks to the alternating narrative, with more characters taking it in turns to show their perspective. This was completely unbelievable as there is absolutely no way that these would have been her choice. It seems that Sonny did it, but given that Sephy died before they could have a proper talk, no real and concrete answer was given.Everything was wrapped up - all the questions we had been holding on to for books were finally answered - and I loved it.

There are too many viewpoints, and far too many from the perspectives of people you don’t care about. Newcomers to Noughts and Crosses would be advised to start at the beginning as Endgame draws heavily on what has come before, not least the murder of gangster Dan Jeavons and the kidnapping of Troy and Libby.

The second adventure for Vi, the wannabe spy, and her blended family as they seek to foil Umbra’s latest dastardly plot for world domination. The cliffhanger ending will leave fans desperately awaiting the next installment’ Mail on Sunday, ‘Must-Read Books of the year, 2019’ on Crossfire. All of the plot points lead towards a traumatic and dramatic conclusion, but this was one of the few times I had to backtrack with a book because so much was going on.
