About this deal

New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging .

FlexVolt tools are engineered to provide the convenience of cordless operation without sacrificing the performance of corded tools. The efficient motor runs cooler than traditional brushed alternatives, ensuring better run-times per charge – you’ll get even more done before having to swap batteries. These tools are part of Dewalt's commitment to excellence, ensuring that every task is tackled with precision and efficiency.

Powered by a two-speed brushless motor that delivers up to 65Nm of torque, this 18V hammer drill driver excels in the most demanding of applications. The drill is powered by 2 Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries that have a capacity of 2 Ah and a charging time of 1 hour. Other options available from DeWalt include the DCD 796 which is slightly heavier but has a battery charge time of just an hour. The performance is similar to that of a mid-range wired drill: You can use drills up to 13 mm in diameter in masonry and metal, and 30 mm drills can be used in wood. Yes it looks like just the batteries, unless you're doing LOTS of work I would go with the smaller batteries, save some weight.I've got a 778 which has a metal gearbox and it's a really good bit of kit for serious DIY, I don't think the 709 was available at the time but if it also has a metal gearbox that would sway me as although it's slightly slower, it's got the same amount of power and being significantly shorter in body would occasionally be useful getting into tight spots. The DCD709 uses batteries with 2 Ah and a voltage of 18 V as standard, but it can also be operated with batteries with a higher storage capacity. Powerful yet compact, the DeWalt DCD709D2T combi drill guarantees impressive performance in the tightest of spaces.
