About this deal

Intimate Marks: Mistle has a tattooist give her a rose tattoo near her vulva. Ciri leans in real close to examine it, and then decides to get one in the same place. However, the player later learns his motivation was to protect Ciri’s genes. He likely didn’t sacrifice himself because he cared for her outside of that. One might surmise that he does care for her because she’s the descendant of Lara Dorran — however, this is at odds with his disdain for humans. Ciri reaches Stygga Castle to save Yennefer, but Vilgefortz imprisons her since he plans to inseminate her to claim the prophesied magic user. Geralt and his group storm the castle and free Yennefer, but Geralt's companions Milva and Angoulême are killed, and Cahir is killed by Bonhart, who is himself killed by Ciri. When Geralt, Yennefer, and Regis confront Vilgefortz, Regis is killed, but Geralt kills Vilgefortz with help from an amulet gifted by Fringilla. Geralt and Yennefer reunite with Ciri. The Aen Elle were originally part of the Aen Seidhe elves who currently inhabit the Continent — the world where most of the Witcher games and books take place — but settled on a different world thousands of years ago. Only the child of the Swallow — Ciri’s child — will have the power to open the gates and save the Aen Seidhe elves from this calaclysm. Avallac’h’s Intentions in the Books

Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: Leo Bonhart's obsession with Ciri is so great, he's prepared to fight the Wild Hunt for her. Thank you for pointing out that the tower was mentioned in the games. I couldn’t recall it either, like Nathonas. It’s a brief mention in a huge game. Meanwhile, Geralt meets the elven sage Avallac'h, who talks to him about Ithlinne's prophecy of the end of the world. Avallac'h tells Geralt that he must not seek out Ciri, since what is predestined will happen regardless. Geralt remains committed to finding Ciri. Skilled, but Naive: Ciri, kinda. Not so much naive as weak-willed, which Bonhart exploits: since the Witchers have drilled all their killing techniques into her, she kills others on pure reflex; however, when she has a chance of killing herself, she just can't. As Bonhart explains, killing oneself requires zero technique and a whole lot of willpower... which Ciri never had a reason to foster because she was already a perfect killing machine. Avallac’h seems more reputable and trustworthy in the games. Because the Tower of the Swallow story is omitted from the games, the player learns little of the canon lore behind his character. (Excluding his research on and fascination with the Lara gene.)Spoilers ahead! If you haven’t finished the main questline, we encourage you to scroll past this section. Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Some of Skellen and Dacre’s men desert them right before the climax on the frozen lake, deciding that the risk vs. the reward (and the reward probably being offed since He Knows Too Much) just isn’t worth it. One of them is the POV character Kenna, which avoids an Posthumous Narration as well. Thanks for reading and taking the time to write such a detailed comment! My apologies for missing some things. Even though I was poring over the books while writing this, I clearly missed a few things. I love the Witcher and don’t want anything to be inaccurate, so I really appreciate this.

Although elves might not experience love the same way as humans, it’s clear that Avallac’h cared about Lara. Moreover, her abandoning Avallac’h for a human, a race he views as inferior, is painful and still affects him. Avallac’h in Witcher 3 Hoist by His Own Petard: The final battle was still somewhat manageable, until Rience decided to cast a spell. His fingers were too stiff from the cold to do that properly, ending with the ice breaking in a random pattern instead of a straight line.In Vysogota's lodge, Ciri explains how she escaped. Her account is intercut with an official inquest in Nilfgaard, as a psychic named Kenna is interrogated for charges of treason. Orifice Invasion: When Ciri initially refuses to take a hit of fisstech, Bonhart tells her she has three options: snort it, rub it into her gums, or he'll pull down her pants and apply it inside her vagina. She relents. Auberon, Avallac’h, and other Aen Elle claim they want to reopen the gates to save their Aen Seidhe cousins from the White Frost. Avallac’h also tells Ciri that they plan to save not just the elves but also the humans.

For a series that gives the impression of being about the Witcher, Book 4 does not have that much content regarding Geralt and his company. There is a relatively short account from Dandelion’s POV covering what happens to their group after the Battle for the Bridge on the Yaruga, but most of it is just interactions of the characters mainly featured in Baptism of Fire, which I very much enjoyed nonetheless. Not So Above It All: Dandelion recounts that after being knighted, Geralt actually breaks away from his 'tortured loner' persona, making friends and palling around with his new comrades-in-arms as he finds himself accepted wholeheartedly for what is possibly the first time in decades. It doesn't last, but is a brief moment of contentment for him. What do you think? Is Avallac’h ruthless, racist, and power-hungry, or is he just doing what he has to do to protect his fellow elves? Share your thoughts with us in the comments. The story once again follows our beloved protagonist, Geralt of Rivia. He is tasked with rescuing Ciri, a powerful young woman who is also a witcher-in-training. Ciri has been trapped in the Tower of Swallows, a mysterious and ancient tower located in the land of Tir na Lia. The tower is said to be a gateway to other worlds, and many believe that whoever controls it, controls the fate of the world.Geralt first encounters Avallac’h on his journey to find the druids of Caed Dhu. He hoped the druids would be able to help him find Ciri using magic. Avallac’h saves her from the Wild Hunt by hiding her on The Isle of Mists. He also helps Ciri control her new powers after the Battle of Kaer Morhen.
