First, I like how smooth and silky the powder feels; without using it on my face yet, I immediately knew that this would be a great blurring powder. However, my face felt dried out and I didn’t like that, in fact it was very distracting because of my sensory issues. I’ve seen comments (mostly reviews on Sephora and the official Kat Von D site) saying that these powders have no brightening effect, and I’m so curious as to how! Usually after applying a loose powder, I go in and use an hydrating setting spray like the Too Faced Hangover Spray to try and add a little more hydration to the skin but I don’t need to do that at all when using the KVD powder.

I’m not a big fan of sponge applicators for powder foundations, so I apply Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation with a brush.Lock-It Powder Foundation is formulated with rice powder extract to blur away imperfections, while kaolin, a clay mineral, helps give a diffused matte finish without feeling dry, so it’s ideal for a range of skin types, including oily, dry, textured and smooth. The only downside is that it is very fragile and broke on the first day of purchase, that's why I'm deducting one star. The packet describes it as “flexible medium to full coverage” by which I’m presuming they mean if you cake it on you can cover up more. The foundation is known for its long-lasting formula, providing extended wear without the need for frequent touch-ups. For a very long time I was a user, lover, and diehard fan girl of Skin Food Salmon Dark Circle Powder before it was very sadly discontinued.
