About this deal

If it had ended there, no one could doubt the Eldar had paid a fitting price for their vile empire, but Slaanesh’s curse went even further. Firstly, the majority of the Aeldari Gods were brutally slain, leaving only a few to escape into the hidden places of the universe. The second, and most damning, impact caused by Slaanesh’s creation involves death itself. Without Gods to shepherd their souls the Eldar swiftly found that after death they were consumed by this nascent dark God. The Eldar don’t just lay claim to ground warfare, through the Swooping Hawk Aspect they master aerial combat as well. Phoenix Lord Baharroth is terror-from- the-sky incarnate, descending to deal swift justice without mercy or hesitation. Fire Dragons take an unbridled, savage delight in the destruction they cause, and nothing short of the complete annihilation of the enemy will satisfy these embodiments of war's capacity for wanton destruction. Fire Dragons specialise in assaulting enemy war machines and fixed fortifications, as well as rooting out heavily-armoured infantry and weapon emplacements.

Let’s take a look at how Fire Dragons are being used on the table, and then I’ll offer up my own opinion on this suddenly popular aspect warrior. We’ve seen a ton of rules rumors for the Eldar, but we haven’t seen a ton for the Fire Dragons quite yet. So, it’s good to get an idea of what they can do. Obviously, since the book isn’t out yet, these are rumors, still, they look pretty legit.

If true, I'm not sure they're going to make the cut. The increased strength on their weapons is nice. The higher toughness is nice. The invuln is nice. They're still going to get shot off the board as soon as they either unload from a transport or webway strike. Not sure they're going to be worth it for the points unless they have some solid stratagem support. Fuegan was thought lost when the Shrine of Asur was destroyed by Arhra, the Fallen Phoenix. Fuegan disappeared for many standard centuries, before reappearing during the final battle at Haranshemash, "The World of Blood and Tears" in the Aeldari Lexicon. Fuegan, "the Burning Lance," is an Asuryani Phoenix Lord and the founder of the Fire Dragons Aspect Warriors. Doom, a Runes of Fate ability, lets you re-roll failed wound rolls made against an enemy unit within 24”. Finally, Focus Will, a Runes of Fortune ability, gives a friendly psyker +2 to their cast rolls during the current phase. These only scrape the surface of what’s possible for Craftworlds Eldar psykers; you’ve got a great well of abilities to choose from. The first of all Phoenix Lords, Asurmen was the founder of the Dire Avengers Aspect Path, one of the most numerous Aspects of all. He is an exemplar of precision on the battlefield, devastating enemies with his elegant approach to warfare.

You are the hand that must cast the spear of flames. Control the dragon, channel its power, and in all things mantain absolute focus. Only the concentrated beam can penetrate, and only that which is tempered will not break. Finally, be not afraid. In the end, everything burns."With the release of the 9th edition of Warhammer 40,000, fans saw a lot of armies undergo drastic changes that meant almost having to re-learn how to play. Craftworlds Eldar have experienced the knife of rebalancing much the same as others, and without a codex available at the time of writing, there are many more changes ahead for the stalwart Aeldari. They will be about as glass cannon as you can get with just a 5++ and 1 wound. Still, with these rules, if you can get them into range, they will burn through pretty much anything. Wounding with everything within 9″ is insane. Especially if you have the flamers as all you have to do is roll how many shots you get and bam, you’re done. Building your own Craftworlds Eldar army, regardless of how you play them on the battlefield, is a pure joy. Eldar models are delicate, beautifully balanced, and can veer into the territory of artwork when painted right. Any Eldar army you build will bring you deep pleasure to simply look at, and that’s something that can’t be understated when approaching an army.

The Fire Dragons are Craftworld Aeldari Aspect Warriors who seek to embody the writhing, sinewy dragons of Aeldari Mythology. No Aeldari Aspect Warriors revel more in destruction than those who serve the Aspect Shrine of the Fire Dragons. Taking as their totem the fierce, fire-breathing creatures of Aeldari mythology, they epitomise the brutal, wanton destruction of war. He refused to flee when the Shrine of Asur was destroyed by Arhra, the Fallen Phoenix. He was thought dead for centuries, but reappeared to fight alongside Eldrad Ulthran at the Haranshemash ( "World of Blood and Tears"). There, he scoured a score of Daemon lords from the planet with the Fire Pike from which he later takes his name, and claimed a dozen more with his Fire Axe. Once the battle was done, Fuegan vanished into the Webway and has traveled its ancient tunnels ever since. He emerges only when it serves a noble cause. [2] Fire Axe - This ancient weapon glows red with the heat of its forging. Massive in size and yet still possessed of the alien elegance that defines the works of Vaul, the Fire Axe has never cooled since the day it was crafted, and the Aeldari Lexicon runes on its surface constantly writhe in blazing agony. As we already stated, Fire Dragons exist for one purpose: to show up near something big and dangerous and blast it to death. They usually die themselves shortly afterwards, but hopefully whatever you point them at is important enough that you still got your value’s worth out of them before they went down- and managing that is the key to succeeding with the unit.Phoenix Armour - The legendary Phoenix Lords wear ancient, invaluable Aspect Armour so finely wrought it is proof against almost any weapon. Put a bunch of Fire Dragons into a transport and zoom it up to your opponent’s super unit, like a Land Raider with terminators inside, get out and pop it open. With the speed and survivability of the Eldar grav tank getting there in one turn isn’t a problem especially when you take into account cover saves, energy shields, and holo-fields.
