About this deal
The cable that the new Aurora comes with also matches up with the new brownish pewter color of the new Aurora instead of the light blue colored theme of the chrome version. Now the new Version comes and I received the review sample of KBEAR, wish KBEAR will better and better.
The KS2 don't catch as much detail as, let's say, the TRN V90, but what they do catch - they output it very cleanly and naturally. It is bottlenecked at the technicalities aspect and in the bass quality area, but I feel it would otherwise make a fine addition for those who are new to this hobby or those who want a laid back tuning that is different from the usual budget CHIFI fare.
I don’t care much for fancy packaging as I think that money is better spent on the IEM’s themselves, so this is fine by me. The bass of Aurora is clean, very deep and very nuanced, with beautiful subsonic presentation, and there is no significant roll off that I can detect and talk about, which puts Aurora way ahead of the competition in terms of bass. The shell is a bright silver in color and decorated with brilliant blue outline, writing and accents.
First impression… Better than Moondrop SSR… That’s a good start… Definitely better than TRN M10… That’s another good start. I don’t consider myself as an audiophile or an enthusiast, therefore the terminology and the overall review will be more mainstream. However, the BLON BL-01 sounds very meh from a low powered source, and really needs amping to shine.
Unlike the KS2, the KS1 uses an opaque material so the internals are not visible even in bright light. Inside the box you’ll find the following: 1x Pair of earphones (with tips fitted), 1x cable, 3x addition silicone tips, 1x Chinese/English user guide. Titanium dome drivers have their strengths that show what it can do in the Aurora with a well balanced harmon tuning.
