About this deal

Even with these slight hiccups in mind, the Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ delivers some truly stunning video. The ability to record without the need of another computer can be a game changer for many, especially if you go to events, or want to bring exclusive gameplay capture to your viewers that simply can’t be done with a full recording kit for whatever reason.

For me as a journalist, the ability to bring a device with me, and record footage, all without having a need for a bulky computer, capture combo seems like a dream come true. Even beyond behind closed door sessions, the possibilities for an external capture card that records right onto an SD card at 4K are endless.DO NOT update firmware for any products at any time, unless Elgato Technical Support tells you to do so for specific troubleshooting purposes. Ignoring this can potentially permanently damage your device. Similar to any capture device from Elgato, everything you need to get started is included inside the box. You will find the Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ capture device, 2x USB-C cables, an HDMI 2.0 cable, a power supply with multiple connections for multiple regions, and an instruction manual. The only thing you will need to supply is either a PC or an SD card to record your footage onto. The setup is very similar to OBS Studio however the placement and names of some settings have changed.

In the upper right corner, there is a Delay (ms)field. Enter 200. The properties can now be closed.

To move an object around in your scene, you can hover over it in the preview or select it in your Sources list. Then drag it around in the preview. ScaleThis is typically used for the Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro or Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro to synchronize audio from the Chat Link adapter connected to another port on your system to the capture device. The Output tab is where we control the type of file we output, how big of the file will be, and where it is saved. Leaving the Output Mode set to Simple is recommended for starting out. Video Bitrate Hardware (NVENC) will use your system's Nvidia Video Card and will generally have a smaller impact on computer performance but may result in lower quality. Audio Bitrate

If you are using OBS Studio primarily to stream, the you will wish to set Video Bitrate to a level well within your Internet's upload speed. A good rule to follow is setting this to 80% of your upload. If you had 5000Kbps or 5Mbps as your upload speed, then setting this value to 4000Kbps would be a good starting point. Encoder If you insert an unformatted card, the status LED on Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ will blink the general error code. This function is for essentially turning off the device from OBS Studio or turning it on. This can be helpful if you’re experiencing issues as a way to soft reset the device. This is asking you to choose the capture device from a list and to configure it. On the Device selection, choose “ Game Capture HD60 S+”.
