Goh has changed significantly during his journey, particularly as a person and Trainer, but his knowledge and tendency to be overconfident have remained. Goh has also become open to new experiences and making new friends, especially those who used to travel with Ash. Goh has learned to put his Pokémon happiness and needs first before himself, and would help them solve or work out their problems. In addition, Goh has improved his battling skills, even using some of Ash's tactics for battling. However, despite his growth, Goh struggled with teamwork, as shown in Advice to Goh!, when he declined to join Project Mew because of this reason, but changed his mind when Gary motivated him to do so. This was shown again in Battling in the Freezing Raid!, when Goh's attempt to defeat Articuno in a Raid Battle on his own nearly caused him to fail the Trial Mission. As time passed, Goh learned about teamwork, to the point that he was willing to work together with others, as seen with Horace in Narrowing the Chaser Chase! and Gary in Chasing to the Finish!. Starting from Trial on a Golden Scale!, Goh occasionally took on Project Mew Trial Missions. Initially, he preferred missions where he could act on his own, but eventually, he learned to cooperate in a team. The Trial Missions culminated in Chasing to the Finish! with Goh's capture of Regieleki, earning Goh enough Project Mew tokens to become a Chaser. No screen! Everything goes through voices, music, lights and movement to stimulate children’s imagination! Three years prior, during a family trip to Azalea Town, Goh befriended Horace, who was looking for the Mythical Pokémon Celebi. Goh offered to help with the search, but as night closed in, the boys promised to meet up again the next day. However, Horace didn't show up, leading Goh to feel betrayed. As of Time After Time!, Goh has more individual Pokémon species under his current ownership than any other main character, including Ash. Goh shares a very close friendship with Chloe due to him knowing her since they were little. At times, Goh brushes off Chloe's concerns for him but knows that she is just looking out for him. When he was little, Goh only wanted Chloe as his friend and nobody else. However, after meeting and getting to know Ash, Goh realized he needed to make friends besides Chloe and accepted him as one. Goh's friendship with Ash is very strong, though they sometimes get competitive and annoyed with each other and even butt heads. Ever since the events in Ivysaur's Mysterious Tower!, Goh seems to strongly admire Ash for his determination, passion, and compassion for Pokémon, especially the extraordinary bond he shares with his Pikachu. Goh has occasionally taken inspiration from Ash, with the bond between Ash and Pikachu inspiring Goh to catch his own in Gotta Catch a What?!, as well as deciding to catch an Altaria in Reuniting for the First Time! after watching Ash battle against one in the previous episode.From Pokémon GO and/or Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!; possibly named after Gō Ichinose Goh grew up in Vermilion City in the Kanto region with his parents, Camille and Walker, and grandmother, Halta. Cyndaquil was caught by Goh during the Sinnoh Festival in Canalave City to demonstrate ancient Sinnohan Poké Balls. It was released afterwards. As seen in Enter Pikachu!, when he was six, Goh was invited by Chloe to go to Professor Oak's Pokémon Summer Camp with her. During their visit to Pallet Town, Goh and Chloe encountered the Mythical Pokémon Mew. The two chased after the unknown Pokémon, but it eventually got away in the aftermath of a baby Kangaskhan rescue. Professor Oak later told them the Pokémon they saw was most likely Mew. Motivated, Goh swore that he would become a Pokémon Trainer when he turned ten, and one day catch Mew. Have obtained a Grass-type starter Pokémon since Clemont, who received his Chespin in Mega-Mega Meowth Madness!, 335 episodes earlier. In Sword and Shield: Slumbering Weald!, Goh and Ash were sent to Galar to investigate various incidents where Pokémon suddenly began Dynamaxing at random. Shortly after arriving, Goh and Ash chased a wild Bunnelby into the Slumbering Weald, where they encountered Zamazenta and Zacian. Their attempts to catch and battle the two Legendary Pokémon ended in failure as they were merely illusions. After exiting the forest, Goh met with Sonia again and headed with her to investigate the ruins in Turffield. In the following episode, Sonia took Goh to visit her grandmother Professor Magnolia to learn more about Dynamax. Goh later received a Dynamax Band from Sonia, which was fashioned from a Wishing Star they found outside. The next day, at the Stow-on-Side mural, Goh and Sonia were approached by Oleana's subordinate, who aimed to stop the duo's research. Goh Dynamaxed Raboot to battle Oleana's subordinate's Gigantamax Garbodor, but the clash broke the mural, revealing a statue of Zacian and Zamazenta underneath.Dad Joke Face-Off, the After Dark edition, is a "not-safe-for-work" follow up to the popular game, Dad Joke Face-Off! Kingdra has not been seen since its debut episode, making it unclear whether Goh kept it following the Trial Mission.
In Just a Scone's Throw From Here!, Eternatus was revealed to have been unsealed, with Professor Magnolia, Sonia, and Leon hoping to achieve coexistence between it and the people of Galar. After it escaped, Rose urged Leon to catch it. In the next episode, Leon's attempt to catch Eternatus failed, and it subsequently turned into its Eternamax form. With the help of Zacian and Zamazenta, Ash and Goh defeated Eternatus, after which they threw one of Goh's Poké Balls at it together, catching it. One day, at home, Goh met a wild Abra as it came to visit him and once led him to the park where he met a lot of Pokémon that he didn't know that lived there.
