About this deal

You've read a story like this, and it's been done better. Guy secretly likes the girl and she starts to warm up to him. If you've never read anything like that before you might like this, but it's been done to death and much better than done here. There is a small park near his apartment. Around the time he walks home from school, there will usually be a handful of family spending their afternoon time together. A peaceful scene for one to look at, indeed. Today is raining, so he didn’t expect there will be a family crazy enough to play under such rain. Yes, only people with a loose screw on their head will visit the park in this weather. And there is actually such people, a girl in fact, who sits on top of one of the swinging chair, alone, without an umbrella covering her drenched body. Her sorrowful face under the rain tells him that she wants the rain to wash over the sadness she’s currently feeling at the moment. Sound: The series has a few different EDs, sung by Mahiru's Japanese VA, Manaka Iwami, and it takes a more upbeat tone than when she's in character. Still, they were good songs to our cute tale. The OP, however, I had to skip each time. Voice work seemed fine and up to standard for Japanese voice casts. (8/10) Story & Characters: The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten has an everyday schooler, Amane Fujimiya, who often spends his time alone in his apartment, letting the days pass by. He doesn't really do much of anything that he'd consider particularly special. One day, on his way home from class, he sees a girl sitting alone in the rain at the park, getting soaked from head to toe. Not one to really show many emotions

The Villainess’s Guide to (Not) Falling in Love (Manga) by Touya (Story), Ren Sakuma (Art), Yoimachi (Character Designs), Shiori Shiono (Adaption)

Opening Theme

A collection of newly written side stories depicting the past and present of two people who are attracted to each other and the times that surround them. With Mothers Day approaching Mahiru questions why he won’t even return home to see his mother. Amane finally explains; in Junior High he had three friends he realised were manipulating him for his money. He lost his ability to trust even his other friends and switched schools. Mahiru promises he can always depend on her when he’s upset. A rumour spreads at school Mahiru went on a date with a guy, which Mahiru confirms was the most important person in her life. She later insists this is true to Amane; she has no feelings for her parents so all she has are friends, of which Amane is her most treasured. Amane feels a compulsion to improve his appearance and starts exercising. Amane dreams of having sex with Mahiru, making him act strangely towards her. Mahiru is upset until Amane explains about his embarrassing dream, which Amane finds funny. With exams approaching Mahiru promises Amane if he scores in the top ten he can lie with his head in her lap again. She also reveals she loves taking care of him. Her use of the word “love” is almost too much for Amane to handle. So Amane Fujimiya is this slob loser of a human being living alone, when he learns that he’s living next door to the “angel” of his school—the beautiful and intelligent Mahiru Shiina. On the basis, it’s just a generic light novel romcom plot with pretty art, and yet the pull that this story has had on me

Amane’s mother Shihoko visits unexpectedly and, finding Mahiru asleep in his room, believes they are either dating or almost dating. After she leaves, Mahiru is glad Amane has a kind mother, revealing her own parents never even bothered to call her by her first name. They decide they can use each other's first names, but only in private. Mahiru is surprised when Amane gives her a spare key. When Mahiru gets first place in their exams, Amane buys a cake as a reward, something else she never got from her parents. They end up feeding each other bites of cake but soon realize that it is embarrassing. Amane decides to attempt to cook for himself but it does not go well. Mahiru is pleased he still needs her to cook for him. Itsuki and Chitose convince Amane to invite them to his apartment for a Christmas Eve party. Mahiru chooses to hide in her own apartment until they leave but asks Amane to spend Christmas Day teaching her to play video games. When it begins snowing at the party Chitose and Itsuki watch it from the balcony and are surprised to see Mahiru doing the same on her own balcony next door, accidentally discovering that she is Amane’s neighbor. Their classmates seemed to have grown accustomed to the couple-like atmosphere of Amane and Mahiru, and they watched over their daily lives with warm looks. There of course are funny moments too, with for example the side character teasing, the situation they are in, trying not to get seen and so on… The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten 5] (in Japanese).
