About this deal

To be honest, I’m not sure why LEGO decided to revisit Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter in 2023. The model is a decent update from the 2017 version, but not a lot has fundamentally changed to warrant a new version of a pretty obscure craft. I do feel the model looks nicer in flight mode, and thus it’s a shame you can’t display it in flight mode without looking like it has just crashlanded. As well as exploring the origins of many beloved and feared characters from the original Star Wars films, the Clone Wars also expanded on the prequel trilogy and became the source of some amazing Star Wars stories. The Clone Wars also help seed the rise of the Empire from the remains of the Republic. Many of the ships found in the original trilogy have variations used in the Clone Wars. That’s certainly the case with Yoda’s personal Starfighter. It was first featured in the Season 6 Clone Wars episode, Voices, in which Yoda is told to visit Dagobah by the fallen Jedi, Qui-Gon. The ship is a specially modified version of the Jedi Starfighter. Which later become the basis for a TIE Interceptor. It could also be good for a LEGO starfighter collector’s lineup, but other than that, I do have some trouble recommending this set. It’s not all bad – it is quite fun to swoosh around – but at its price and considering the competition, I think there are better sets out there.

More manuals of Lego Frequently Asked Questions about Lego set 75168 Star Wars Yodas Jedi starfighterYoda is not necessarily a character one associates with starfighters, but when the Jedi Grand Master embarks upon solo missions, he pilots a specialised fighter. While clearly similar to the normal Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor in certain respects, this starfighter's proportions are unique and have been translated quite effectively in LEGO form, on the whole.

Two minifigures are included – a bit low for this price point – and they are Yoda and R2-D2. Yoda is unchanged since this minifigure first appeared in 2013, but has a nice rubber head element and decent torso printing. I think maybe you're focusing on sort of just the semantics of the phrasing? Perhaps if it was more like low demand model choice it would more clearly be a negative. It's obviously subjective either way if the subject matter is interesting or not, but at least this way it would just be clear that LEGO making a surprise choice was unambiguously meant negatively. Certainly no one felt Mace Windu and the republic tank last year was bad so that was a good surprise. Perhaps LEGO should have included a small Technic display stand, which is becoming an increasingly common appearance in sets nowadays.

Minifigures

is the 20th Anniversary of The Clone Wars, which has done a lot in terms of transforming Star Wars fans to prequel trilogy fans. To commemorate this milestone, LEGO has released several Clone Wars-themed sets this year, one of which is 75360 Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter. Still, prequel fans might find something to like here, especially if you don’t already have the 2017 set or a modern Yoda minifigure. Why is “Surprising choice of subject” regarded as a negative? Shouldn’t that be a *positive*, if it’s listed at all?"
