Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, Functional Skills,
Diplomas and Personal Learning Skills
A revolution is happening in education at 14-19 in school and colleges.
The government is introducing:
- Functional skills in English, maths and ICT
to ensure that all learners master the basics
- New Diplomas in applied vocational learning
- Personal learning and thinking skills
The Diplomas aim to give learners a high quality alternative to traditional GCSEs and A Levels, and Functional Skills seek to equip them with excellent communication, maths and ICT skills.
Ensure that you and your colleagues are informed about the new developments!
